Senior people at LFC did everything they could to block the new EFC stadium. The planning process was a painful battle. There was plenty of lobbying behind the scenes at the local authority. I am not suggesting they want to steal the stadium but they do regard EFC as a long term serious commercial rival. The new stadium will attract lots of investment. It really smells like someone is sticking the knife into Everton within the PL leadership.

The level of detail in the story shows it was a precise leak not guesswork by the reporter. These stories don’t just appear by accident. Someone has briefed the journalist. The story had no direct quotes but repeatedly referred to the PL.

The best way to deal with jokers like these is to boycott them.
There's plenty of other betting companies to use.
Where they think this will increase their customer numbers is baffling when in reality it actually has the opposite effect.

100% they had quite a complimentary taking the piss out of Arsenal with a Liverpool fan talking about how City always win in the end.

For me it’s just cheap publicity.

Dominos is worse as they seem to be going after City a lot more and less funny, but again I have no real issue.

I think it’s a measure of the stature of City these days - we are the team everyone (that isn’t affiliated already) wants to see, support and talk about, especially the younger generations.

Therefore it’s natural that advertising (not sponsorship) leeches off of our name for free.

The still surprising thing is that the media is churning out article after article about the has-beens united… they are clearly chasing the biggest part of their audience, but it’s an audience bred in the past, and is ever dwindling, but they are so blinkered they just can’t see it. Switching to a City focused narrative would alienate their remaining audience, so plummeting their figures.
Meanwhile City (PR) continue to roll-up new fans with different and imaginative engagement for non affiliated fans and young fans alike - it might not appeal to myself (almost a FOC), but that’s not the demographic that spends money freely.

Not been ignored. Was a pretty big story. In the Athletic and Mail at least. The PL aren't going to investigate because they seeming approved the £40m so nothing to investigate. I assume on the share sale costs, they had pre-approval.

Don't think the two compare.

Paddy Power are genuinely funny. And cover any club that gives them an opportunity.

They are also immersed in football and linked to it, as a place where football fans bet on football.

With Dominos, their attempts are misplaced and out of character. They are provocative rather than funny, and lack finesse and balance. And they are detached from football. Weird.

Isn't this the problem as the PL aren't held to account for their decisions, which can on face value appear to discriminate against certain teams, whilst favouring others ?

Would an Independent body be expected to have to justify such decisions , or is there scepticism regarding that role too ?

I saw the PP one as taking a dig at the PL, since they announced the charges just after a loss at Spurs, we've won 7 trophies and only lost 6 competitive games out of 87 (counting shoot-outs as draws) and of those Rodri was missing for five of them and the squad was still hungover for the FA Cup defeat.
