Bernardo Silva is a legend. This little genius has managed to stoke a fire of jealousy so strong that the red idiots have completely lost the plot. From walking away in the middle of the guard of honor against Liverpool to coming off the bench and showing Garnacho who is the king in the Community Shield, he has managed to score some crackers in the big games to help City win multiple titles. Talk about a big game player!!

But his latest smallest action has proven to be a highly significant one in showcasing the state of our rivals mentality and current state of play. Such small time mentality of the so called "big clubs" of England. They have lost all sense of irony. They claim us to be cheats, yet they hope a perfectly legitimate goal should be ruled out just because a City player has scored it. I mean, talk about stupidity and idiocy!!

Bernie has just shown the world the true colors of the pathetic supporters of "English big clubs". I hope and pray that this uproar galvanize the boys and Pep a little bit more to sweep everything in their path to glory yet again!

AND ORDER BERNIEEE A STATUE RIGHT NOW!!!! WHAT A PLAYER!!

World class wum is our Bernie.

MOTD2 showed how long it took for the flag to go up. It was about 25 seconds after the goal had gone in.

I watched the City highlights and the comments last night.
The pundits from Sky should take a leaf out of these guys..

He flagged him as offside when stones headed it, as he's in an offside position.

What he didn't account for/couldn't see is that he wasn't interfering with play.
Yes but even though Bernie was behind the Wolves defensive line when the corner was took, he still wasn't offside, he was played onside by Phil taking the corner, when Stones made contact with the ball, the linesman should know that and he cocked up.

I'm perfectly happy for people disallow the goal for interfering with the keeper. That's absolutely fine as it means we can then definitely disallow Arsenal's 2nd goal against us for the same. Means we lose 2 points from yesterday but gain 2 from the Arsenal match as we'd then win that 2-1. Gives us the same points but knocks one off theirs. A happy compromise I'm sure we can all agree on....

It’s only after O’Neil tells the 4th official that it’s offside. He then speaks whilst holding his earpiece and then the flag goes up.

We’d have to hear the audio to be sure though.
It feels very wrong. Surely if the linesman isn't sure, they leave the flag down and then leave it VAR to correct. Surely you cant have someone else telling them to put the flag up.

I think it's a goal but let's be honest, loads of people on here would be complaining if it was given against us.
Did we moan that much after the Arsenal goal where 2 players definitely blooked Eddie off and man handled him. I can't remember that much moaning and that was far worse.

I know he was onside when it was taken. He was flagged offside for the header.

Assuming the linesman and ref can hear each other, the linesman should say Silva is in an offside position and the ref should say not interfering so don’t flag. Nobody else should be involved

Arsenal score a set piece goal, the set piece coach is the next big thing, as he knee slides along the turf in celebration, with Arteta sucking his knob. City score a goal from a set piece, cheating bastards. Fucking hilarious
Exactly this.

My City-supporting mate is a qualified referee and has been officiating in the Isthmian League (Level 7) this season.

"It wasn't offside, but I feared the worst when I saw the linesman pressing the buzzer on his flag and then keep it lowered in his right hand as a sign that there might be a potential infringment. This is common practice at Level 6 and above
That would make sense because the linesman might see that Silva was in an offside position but wouldn't be sure if he was interfering with playing.
In that situation the referee should run over for a quick chat, but this definitely didn't happen"

Completely good goal

1. Bernardo Silva by the laws of the game cannot be offsite at a corner...he only becomes in an offside position once Stones heads the ball. During the flight of the ball bernardo moves away from the keeper.
2. At the point at which Stones heads the ball Bernardo is a couple of metres to the side of the keeper.....the keeper has a clear line of site to Stones...bernardo is not only to the side of the keeper he is in fact also ducking down and therefore again the keeper can clearly see Stones. Yes Bernardo is now in an offside position but he is not interfeering with play and especially the keeper - he is not blocking or impeeding his nor putting him off balance or a distraction.
3. The keeper isnt off balance...what the side view of the incident shows us is that Sa has his feet set in position to try to save anything coming at him - he actually makes a good effort to try and save it.

4 This is also critical as to what Sa (and the other Wolves players thought about it) - Watch the Wovles players reaction after the goal...there is a wide angle view of it - not one player from Wolves complains to the ref - especially Sa who is just lay on the floor deflated after the goal....he doesnt jump up to remonstrate at the ref and none of the Wolves defenders do - its only after about 30 seconds when the Wolves dug out jump up to start complaining that anyone goes to the ref.

This last bit says it al for me - if the keeper thought he had been impeeded in anyway he would not have waited 30 seconds or more to complain to the ref - his natural reaction (as with the rest of the Wolves players) was to accept it as a goal......

Anything to the contrary of this is just either twatter idiots trying to make a name for themselves or start conspiracy theories/narratives (to make a name for themselves), people who know nothing about football and/or have never played the game or just straight up bias and jealousy
