Things must be going badly for the Premier league in 115 case as this poor excuse for a journalist talking shite and it's old news...
Sounds like they’re laying the ground for a few “well we all know they were guilty as fuck but governments got involved, too much political drama, so they let them off with it. Money talks innit” articles when we get cleared.
interesting:
Does this face look bovvered ?
Pics?
In total, maybe. Individually, no chance. They have seen withdrawals already due to the prospect of increased fees.Thing about this is if the independent schools can afford Lord Pannick why are they bothered about the VAT rise ?. This suggests they are rich enough to not have to pass on to the parents ?
It’s an old story. You would expect this to happen as a matter of routine. Khaldoon runs one of the Abu Dhabi Sovereign Wealth Funds which invests hundreds of millions in the UK. The Embassy will always be working on trade deals and the 115 case could damage relations. Of course the Embassy would be interested. This is what Embassies do. It is a desperate story by Ziegler. I wonder who prompted this story and what was their motive.Didn't we already know this months ago ?

There's a thread for thisWhich is a shame for the kids whose parents can't afford to pay, and possibly depriving their kids of a better chance in the future.
Difficult one .
I’m not a great supporter of private education but in a free country, you can’t go around banning things just because you don’t like them. It seems to me that it is unfair to charge VAT on private school fees while all supplies to LA schools are VAT free.Which is a shame for the kids whose parents can't afford to pay, and possibly depriving their kids of a better chance in the future.

It’s a classic Ziegler, signifying nothing. Did he expect our gov simply to ignore the situation while not knowing the attitude of UAE on whom we currently rely for large inward investment?Guilty = no foreign trade. ;)
just think about that for a minuteI’m not a great supporter of private education but in a free country, you can’t go around banning things just because you don’t like them. It seems to me that it is unfair to charge VAT on private school fees while all supplies to LA schools are VAT free.
Slaphead trying to stay relevant when in reality he hasn't got a fuckin clue what is going on.Full link to the Times article here:
There are a few different FOI requests and responses revealed.
The sensible answer therefore would be not to charge private schools, then.just think about that for a minute
who receives the VAT?
Who pays for the supplies to the LA schools?
the answer to both is the government, charging vat to LA school supplies just adds admin fees with no benefit to anyone
