You can buy potential in January but very hard to get top quality. Unfortunately if we stick with our current squad we’ve no chance at all of finishing in the top 4

We have attracted players whilst we had been out of the Champions League. What it means we have to overpay whether it is wages or the actual transfer fee. Viana will have a plan for that.

We got Laporte in January, so there is hope.

We tried to sign Laporte in the summer not in the middle of the season. He initially turned us down and Athletic Bilbao were having a rough season back in 2017-18 which made it more easier to sign him in January.

I think we will do some transfers but scared if it will be more of recent Txiki specials of Phillips, Nunes or the likes of Doku, Kovacic. rather than some A list top player who makes the dressing room sit up and take notice it may be someone we need to carry.

We all know they will make signings, the club will know who they want for which positions. The only question is which of them if any can we get in January. Hopefully 2 but if we can’t then we can’t.

2 signings are all we can make in January and make the right ones if possible and they will make enough difference for this season. It’s nowhere near 8 player, to think it would take 8 or 9players to get to last years level is just daft. 2 in January. 3 in summer is all we need.
