One of my favourites since he arrived. Always thought he was a big one for the future so I’m pleased he’s weathered the storm from a number of Bluemoon knockers and is starting to win people round.

He’s young enough to still learn plenty and one thing he appears to be taking on board is creating for others. That’s not just down to him though; we’ve seen much better movement ahead/alongside him these last two or three games.

While I’ve never been a Grealish troll, surely we are now moving away from laboured transition and aimless possession towards greater speed and incision, in which case I fearJack will continue to slip down the queue for starting slots.
Seems our slow possession build up has been sussed by opponents…..need to be more direct and move the ball faster….Doku just the man…..that’s what I hoped Jack would do….

Osman made good points on motd that too often this year we’ve got the ball to him against 2/3 men and just basically left him to it. Yesterday he had people especially KDB making runs in between centre halves and fullbacks for him.
But thats not just others' fault. He gets himself in situations like these because he doesn't think further than "give me the ball to my feet next to the byline and I will run at the defense". He needs to either think more creatively when hes without the ball, so that he faces better situations (more disorganized defense) or just attack non stop when he gets the ball (for which he has no stamina).

You can't have everyone running for Doku, hes no Ronaldinho as much as he moves like him; he doesn't have that much creativity or through ball ability.

Well, we might as well sell him now then!

I was just rewatching the clip where Doku assists for Haaland, and it looks like he says "finally bro" lol.

First time he has found Haaland in ages, that connection needs to be made stronger.

what you want, ideally, is someone continually making those runs that KdB made at Ipswich around the full back - Doku and KdB profited a lot from that, i think there were 2 assists and a goal from my quick recap, could be more. In that situation, the opposition are fucked. Doku is running at you or passing round you,

Problem is, i would prefer Kev to be on or around the edge of the box, Haaland middle, someone (Rodri!) sitting, it's not going to be the right winger either.... sort of running out of players. Overlapping Gvardiol maybe, perhaps Foden. It's a good tactic, but perhaps we dont see it much as it leaves the edge of the box a bit thin (and we know how that was going for us up until recently).

So, let me get this straight you can’t expect midfielders to make runs into space when you’re dominating possession and the winger has 2 men on him? That’s what the great Pep City side did so often to open up sides who’d generally park the bus against us.

I’m not sure what you expect Doku to do. He’s clearly told to mainly stay wide to create width and as teams know how good he is one v one they tend to either double or treble up on him. With no overlapping fullback or runners inside him he has 2 options. Either do a Grealish and retain the ball by either passing backwards or sideways. Or attempt to beat them which either works or he loses the ball(even happened to Messi a lot whilst dribbling).

He’s not going to run in behind his fullback from 40-50 yards like Haaland could as his greatest strength is acceleration over 10-15 yards. So yes he could look for give and goes more but he’s always going to mostly look for balls into his feet so he can face up defenders. Movement is the key for the team and it’s starting to come back.

Doku has just had 2 great games by getting his head up earlier and having more movement around him. If we keep doing that it will lead to him getting one on one more with fullbacks.

That guy thinks Doku is some kind of superhuman holding back on his super abilities, I wouldn't lie, I love reading his posts as his expectations reminds me of how I use to try to create a player on pro-evolution with a perfect 100 in his passing, pace, shooting, defending and dribbling

If I understand anything about Pep's teams is that it is precisely the job of the other ten players to get people like Doku into 1:1 situations. If he's constantly up against 2/3 players, then either the other ten are doing something wrong, or he needs to shift the ball pronto to wherever City has an overload as a result of doubling up on him. But it's a nonsense to suggest he should be doing more creatively in those situations.

Don’t think he’s injured I think Pep is managing him, he also didn’t play against Brentford so I expect him to start against Chelsea, imo.
He would've been on the bench at least, it's probably injury and it's getting bloody ridiculous.

Not sure. He could manage him whilst still including him in the squad to be used only if necessary
Yes but we’ve seen this a lot over the years from Pep, where he leaves a player at home who has just come back from an injury, then they play the next game, he’s just giving the player more time, more recovery from home.
