The Labour Government

I can't wait to get an extra £1.40 a week in carers' allowance. As for the rest, it won't touch the sides. We were told that those with the broadest shoulders would take the hit, and yet here we are, demonising the poorest again.

Well apparently all the richest are fleeing the country because of tax increases on their wealth - so how does that square?

As you're asking.... it doesn't look like the Labour party are capable of pleasing anyone, which is what I think many posters of a Conservative, Liberal, Reform UK or neutral (myself) viewpoint think.

Edit - FYI I class myself as neutral because there is more about every political party that I detest than I like. Oh and all politicians are basically liars and in it for whatever they can get out of it.

so which party would please ? by your logic, may aswell go for Reform - because at least the racist and thick will be happy.

None - see my edit.

The only thing I like about Trump is that he is prepared unlike nearly every other politician, to put his money where his mouth is. I hate many of his policies but the electorate elected him on the basis of him delivering.

Now take Labour, they have been dishonest from the start... already quoted the WFA, Employers NI and both of these will work against the working man in a very BIG way. (IMO)

haha, Trump honest ? Labour dishonest.

I could give you a whole page of Trumps lies if you wish ?

Let's also not pretend you wouldn't vote for Reform. Just to embarrassed to admit it.

Quite likely given the quality (or lack of it) of the opposition, but I do not hold with many of their policies, but I hold with even less Labour policies, same with Conservatives and the LibDems...

I know Trump, like every other politician tells lies. As does Starmer (working with his voice coach - my arse)

Can you tell me which Labour Policies you really don't like?

Benefits claimants turn I see.

“Taking the mickey”

This lot turn more Tory by the hour, never mind the day or week.

Strange to see the same cheerleaders lapping it up though I have to say. This would be decried as a cruel right wing policy by them normally so I’m curious to see what they think about it now?

Wanting to go against international courts and ruin our international reputation, particularly for the rule of law, would be beyond madness to me.

Ruin our international reputation? Don't know if you've missed the past few months but the only reputation we've now got is for being a police state with some of the most punitive speech laws in the world with more people in prison than Russia for speech crimes and for arresting journalists for 'non-crime hate incidents'.

Britain as the country of Magna Carta and the Bill Of Rights is ancient history as far as our reputation is concerned.

And the only reputation we'll develop by paying billions to Mauritius is being the only mugs to take note of an ICJ advisory decision, let alone an actual order from them!

We should have done what the US did when the ICJ tried to get them to pay compensation for sanctions on Iran and told them to jog on:

Well apparently all the richest are fleeing the country because of tax increases on their wealth - so how does that square?
All the richest? That hasn’t happened, just Rightwing press making shit up. Have some left? Probably, but they don’t exactly do fuck all to help do they?

Do you actually read what people post? Where do I mention that Trump is honest?

What I say is he does what he says, (regardless of whether or not BlueHammer85 approves)

“Everyone knows about the Chagos Islands”

Meanwhile, in the real world, half people polled don’t know whether it is the right decision as they don’t know where they are or how they’re used, so have no opinion on them.

It doesn't matter whether you've heard of the Chagos Island or not, have you heard of the value of money? Between £9-18BN of it is going to a foreign country that's accused of persecuted Chagossians so we can pay for a military base for...the United States.

The fact that so many people don't know that the UK is paying to cede it's territory is a sad indictment of the media but looking at BBC News tonight, it's no surprise when half of the coverage is about what's going on in America.

No one is chatting about it as the figure isn’t known and their strategic purpose isn’t known.

You’ve made your mind up and are bombarding the thread with that decision.

I note the other thread you bombarded is now dormant, as you will be on this when Twitter moves on to the next Starmer bandwagon.

You made a point, I replied to it. That's how forum's work. But we'll agree to disagree if you think that's a good use of taxpayer's money. Personally I think it's the worst deal we've signed (if we do sign them off) as a country outside of losing a war.

No one knows if it’s value for money or not. (Outside of Cummings and Jenrick)

The Brexit deal would take some beating in being the worst deal outside of wartime though.

Short / selective memory?

Labour looking to give away even more of our money that apparently we haven't got on slavery reparations.

You responded to a post where Cummings concluded "the whole deep state knows it" by saying "Yep, exactly what I thought it'd be."

Anyone would think the Americans would never pay to lease land for their foreign bases. One base in Djibouti costs the USA $63M a year. For people like Cummings and Jenrick (and you?) legal stuff is small fry. Whereas this sort of negotiation is so important that Harvard law school will even offer you a chance to play negotiator. https://www.pon.harvard.edu/daily/t...camp-lemonnier-new-simulation-and-case-study/

(The US pays Cuba to misuse Guantanamo Bay - but Cuba refuses to cash the checks for their unwanted presence.)

Did I?
Is this you trying to gaslight me again !! or are you just confused ?
I said no such thing.

Absolutely all.the big powerful countries like Merica Russia China are all well respected rule followers, the globe punishes rich Arab countries by holding sporting events there , that will teach them about the value of reputation

But Britain must............ for no reason really

A bit of reality please. However the govt deals with this will not affect us in any meaningful way on the world stage one iota.

Clichéd nonsense, international reputation:-)

They need to get on their bikes and get back to work, the disabled may need electric bikes obviously said working class hero Sir Keir Starmer, the titled working class lawyer formerly of Surrey.
