He gets the opportunity to go 1 on 1 lots of times but prefers to hold the ball allowing defenders to double up.
I'm sure Haaland is being told to go far post but neither winger ever looks like sending a cross there.
Most of the time we're too slow to move it wide and he's doubled up from the start, when he's one on one he usually goes past his man, and a cross to the far post is the hardest type of cross because you need to beat the entire defence with your effort, that's why we need someone to make runs to the front post like Sergio used to do.

Why is a far post cross and harder than a near post cross, especially if you have a mobile 6'4" forward waiting there and you're getting paid a fortune to do exactly that..
He very rarely goes 1 on 1 early, preferring to hold the ball up allowing defenders yto get back. How about taking on and beating the full back near the half way line and going direct for goal?

Again because you need to beat the entire defence with your cross, and Haaland is anything but mobile when the ball is out wide.

These are professional footballers, not sunday league players
Yeah go and find me any winger who makes consistent accurate crosses when you have your striker standing at the back post and no one else inside the box against a packed defence.

So why go near post with a cross or even worse, rattle a defenders legs with it. Lots of wingers easily cross to the far post, its not really all that difficult

Absolutely no winger will look good if he's asked to play crosses to one guy at the back post standing behind a packed defence and no other teammate is in the box.

The problem doku has when he is on the left hitting the near post with low crosses is that nobody at all attacks the near post. Its so fuckin annoying. Haaland doesnt mix it up he is always at the back post waiting for it to be stood up marked by 3 men. Hopefully marmoush can turn into that near post runner and turn some of them ‘shit balls’ into assists

Stop making excuses for him, he's shite

The ball never gets to the front post, it gets blocked before it even hits the front post

He spends so long doing dummies and step overs, and being obsessed with beating his man, that he seems to forget that his job is to get the ball into the box at the earliest opportunity when we're attacking

Anyone thinking that his final ball will improve are kidding themselves, as it's his footballing brain that is letting him down the most, and I just think that's something that you've either got, or you haven't

Maybe that isn't the job Pep has given him?

Pep tends not to play people who don't carry out the roles he sets them, after all.
