North Stand Construction Discussion

nope. definitely tripods in some early schematics - here is a plan view from Page 39 and a 3/4 view from page 108 of the original DAS in the original planning app that confirms it

I suspect the new roof and the pair of old ones will not be joined as shown in that picture.

Not that it's particularly important but they look like tripods but with an extra, central (vertical) leg. Damned if I know what you'd call it though.

Assuming the two screens on the lobster claws are synched in someway there will almost certainly be speakers in and around the new City Square - are there smaller screens inside the new City Square too?
There'll be speakers everywhere I suspect, except for the big 3 external screens. They're 10m off the ground and between 17m and 20m in size. The size of speakers to match them dimensions and for people to hear them at ground level would be horrendous.

There are 3 screens shown under City Square on the end of the North Stand.

I never realised that the food & beverage outlets under the hotel were so extensive. Do they all look accessible to fans on matchday?

Forgive me but why would they produce such a big food and drink ( multi company )outlet and not have it fully available on match days ?? I could possibly believe some of the smaller outlets not being open on non match days though I suspect part of the lease will include 7 day opening :-)

Is this the ground floor layout in the hotel?
It is the GF layout, but this is all public and third party F&B and independent of the hotel. Open to all. The hotel's breakfast and dining spaces start on the first floor, they only have the entrance up to it on the GF, from the rear in purple.

I have been mentioning the extent of the f&b and how much revenue (and offering) that is just on its own. Someone did say one unit was promised to a local business, which sounds great as usually these turn out to be chain outlets. Which is not a bad thing btw, still great offerings of choice, juat not particularly unique which is what you'd want at least some of to make it a destination on non match days.

I would imagine that match days will be the only opportunity for the outlets to make a profit.

Not necessarily. People will want to get food before a gig/show at the arena. People will do tours of the stadium. Staff at the offices and hotel, guests of the hotel, etc. There are plenty about that could use the food outlets outwith match days.

With it being split into 3 distinct and independent areas I wasn't sure of the one on the east side of the hotel especially.
