Hope everyone ran well yesterday.
Ran the Garmin Trail Half yesterday and scraped a top ten finish. Ridiculously hot out there and so it was a proper challenging.
After years of running, and struggling, I found a really good aid to help with the heat. Wore a buff around my neck for the first time (outside winter) and was soaking it with cold water at every aid station and in exposed areas placing it over my forehead. Really helped.
Great advice above by
@Stuuuuuu and
@gaz76. I’m a proper sweater during exercise and lose a huge amount of water and salts so I always have a drink with electrolytes and also, when racing, take salt tablets with me or electrolyte gels.
Carry them in a flip belt (around my waist, which you don’t really notice when running.
