PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Do you believe City & the PL don't know what the outcome is?
I do, yes, fwiw.

I believe they both may feel they do, based on what their lawyers think on how it went and the evidence shown.

But I honestly don't believe this take that they both know the result from the panel, and are happy to sit on it till it suits some loosely affiliated parties to get it published. Sorry, that's a bit wild.

That it was untrue and caused material damage to the club’s reputation. Think it meets the former but not the latter.

Carragher’s been guilty of far more actionable statements in terms of City’s revenue imo.
How do you (one) determine material.

I have always thought that when we are cleared we will help the PL and Masters to come out of this with as little damage as possible.

That being said rumours will get people ready for the final verdict to come, like lube before the big event it's all about the preparation.

I don’t think we can, it’s quite clearly become very hostile. The club solicitor turns up at partner meetings making it clear he wants their feelings added to the minutes. This in my mind is a marker for current & future cases.

They tried to destroy our club & accused Sheik Mansour of being a criminal. I think Masters is cooked!

I agree with TheGhost on this though.

It’s pure fantasy that a journalist would sit on a story of this magnitude.

It’s also fantasy that a source with the credibility required to give a steer that would be enough to justify publication would expect a journalist to sit on it.
A journalist with an all-time exclusive story and a credible source losing access to what, transfer gossip? The political press often suppress stories because they are protecting friends or political allies, they're rarely protecting straightforward "access". There's no way an editor would tell a journo to hide a story about this in the way a Telegraph editor might hide a story about Boris Johnson.

The smallest slur at Liverpool and they attack even if it's their fault etc, we have IMHO acquiesced on all matters and can't see it changing, I know it's cynical mate but there it is.

Not my bag, so I’m riffing, but I’d say more than mere trifle. It would have to go to the integrity of the club and be demonstrably damaging to its reputation.

I’m not sure that dragging litigation out for tactical reasons would fall into that category. It’s not even especially reprehensible conduct in the context of litigation. Think the club would look a bit small time if it tried to argue its reputation was damaged by a statement like that.

Falsifying accounts, which incurs criminal liability, would unquestionably fit, especially given the subject matter being discussed.

I was talking to the bloke who doubted @Prestwich_Blue reason for suppressing & then gave an example of working in an area where I’d imagine big stories are suppressed all the time.
I don't think we are arguing whether or not stories get suppresed.

More the viability of the speculation and the theories that people have concluded. Which I don't find credile. Stories getting suppressed absolutely no difference to that.

It's perfectly simple. The ruling has either been finalised or not. Either or both parties either know the content of the ruling, if it exists, or not as the case may be. The report, if it has been finalised, or even if it hasn't been, may or may not be being held up because it is particularly damaging, or not, to either or both parties and will, or will not, shortly be published.

And, for the record, Neville is a ****. No mays or may nots about that one.

& yet he has worked within government where far bigger stories are sat on, forever.

The comment I responded wasn’t whether it was true, it’s that the media will sit on it or suppress.

Why don't you you all just wait and see what's next?
There's nothing Anyone can do
Apart from Post Barrmy Cryptic Theories

Ok you lot I wait for the Abuse to come my way!

Not sure about that mate, i work for the nhs and we are ripped off left right and centre in that regards, having to buy from approved suppliers at an over inflated price wastes absolute fortunes, lack of choice drives up prices in that

It's up to the purchasing officer to enter into the best contract overall.

My guess is that someone buying a million ballpoint pens will get a cheaper price per pen than I would. That doesn't mean that every single item in the contract will be cheaper than anywhere else, but overall it ought to be.

If not, the purchasing officer is not doing his/her well-paid job very well.
Public procurement is bent. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. I could save the NHS more than was on that red bus ten times over - that’s how bad it is

And purchasing / procurement people in the cost sector generally don’t give a fuck

Like when Simon Mullock couldn't publish the truth about liverpool hacking our database, liverpool lawyers stopped him, so ended up publishing an article about a premier league club hacking another premier league club's database

There will need to be an incredible level of precision and accuracy in the write up and the panel will go over every word in detail because there will almost certainly be some sort of appeal and any errors in the draft could have huge implications.
There will be multiple fact checking and numerous corrections. Both parties will have a good feel about the result wihout having full details.
