Oasis reunion

Ian brown might have been a shambles. But, there is absolutely no way on this earth that John Squire was a better guitarist in 1988 than he was in 2015. Same with Mani.
The Saturday at Heaton Park was great as you could not hear Ian Brown.
You can hardly say the Roses were better in 2015 by excluding the lead singer!
Squire and Mani were both superb in ‘88 and ‘15.
As was Reni.
I’ve seen Ian brown solo: superb at the Apollo and Llandudno where it was small intimate setting. But I also saw him with Roses at the Apollo and he was dire.
Those were heady days the late ‘80s. Roses Mondays Inspirals regularly gigging locally and with great support acts.

There was around 800 fans in the rear beergarden of that pub opposite the park .. the Ostrich ...... there was that many fans expected there that they presented that Granada Reports programme from there last night, and Holts had to 'ship' staff from other Holts pubs in to help!

A thousand in the welcome just down the road.
I'm in my local now which is 15 min tram ride away and there's about 40 in here.

Back to Cheadle/Stockport
Heywood Road/Rectory Lane junction. less than 10 minutes walk down Whitaker Lane from the entrance by the Metrolink Station then it's an easy run up to J17.

Can anyone hear it from their house ?
Yes but I live about 400 yards from the stage although I couldn't hear it that well sat in my back yard. I went out the front just after 10 and down towards the park and they were just doing Champagne Supernova. Might go out a bit earlier and catch more tonight.

After watching Oasis from the early days, I became bored of their later stuff and some of the crowds they were attracting. I never thought I’d be that interested in seeing them again if they reformed. Also had very little interest in their post Oasis stuff, with the odd exception here and there.

Then @TheGhost got me a last minute freebie for Liam doing Definitely Maybe at the Co-Op last year - that was a class night, absolutely amazing the love in that venue for him and the music from fans of all ages and it was clear he still had it when it came to that catalogue of songs.

The whole ticketing thing this time around has been a farce though, from the scramble for tickets to the ridiculous surge pricing. My 16 year old lad paid £410 on my account for a ticket through Ticketmaster resale. Seemingly because one was bought on my account, I was then ruled out of buying another. I have searched regardless on there and the scam sites over the last couple of months, until yesterday when the prices didn’t drop, I decided to give up.

I drove up to Heaton Park to drop my lad off when who should ring but @TheGhost, with two tickets in his Ticketmaster basket for the original £149 price. The car was promptly ditched and a beers consumed before heading in.

What a show, setlist, performance, crowd, atmosphere - even the venue wasn’t that bad and the weather was perfect. That band are still absolutely adored and it was a joy to be part of. I’m still absolutely buzzing this afternoon, as is my lad who this morning had it up there with the Treble in Istanbul as the best day of his life.

I was going to get tickets for me and my daughter for the all day party but it's over 18s only.

Oh I’m shitting myself, counting down the days now until I’ll be there in Dublin. Going to be up there with Istanbul!!!

I lived in the flats facing the Albert til 1981 then moved round the corner off Roch crescent and lived there for about 30 years.
Blimey, that's quite some stay ! You would have known the Lord Lyon pub then probably, if my memory serves me right??? I used to play football on the fields all around there.
