Stupid little things that bug you

Ditto. I have a friend who has an apartment not far from him in Portugal or wherever and she is reasonably friendly with him. Not bosom friends but not just acquaintances and she says he is lovely. Very thoughtful and kind.
He is very generous, for the last 60 years he’s been giving 10% of his earnings to charity. There’s not many who do that.

That's something that bothers me nowadays... A lot of people seem to have extreme opinions on everything. There's absolutely no middle ground. They either 'love' or 'hate' things and that view is fixed, with no scope for sensible debate or discussion.

Social media seems to have led to an increase in people being bi-polar!

I was feeling quite well off the other day doing the shopping so I picked up a box of Kellogs variety pack cereals, very rarely got them but I used to love them as a kid, Sugar puffs, Frosties, Rice Crispies etc etc,
This pack the other day had 5 packs of Coco Pops, 2 packs of Cornflakes & one pack of Rice Crispies, not exactly much of a selection?

You must have been a very very naughty boy :)
Not posted in it since 5th June and still unable to post in it
I'm sleeping OK and managing with life despite not having clue why I'm banned from posting in it
Maybe mods should message folk with what it is they've done when enforcing such bans

There was never going to be a pack of Sugar Puffs, nor was there ever. They weren't made by Kellogg's.

They were always the last box left if I remember. They were chewy weren’t they when you added milk? Euurrgh!
No point in asking me I thought they were Sugar Puffs, never even heard of Sugar Pops?,
Anyway just off to ring the old folks home see if they have any spare rooms :-)

Actually you are thinking of Sugar Smacks maybe …

“Variety pack

In 1960 the variety pack was six individual sized packs. They were two packs of Cornflakes and four others from Rice Krispies, Special K, Frosties, Sugar Ricicles, Sugar Smacks and 30% Bran Flakes.

Sugar Smacks

These were a sweetened puffed wheat breakfast cereal similar to Quaker Sugar Puffs (see below). In the USA they debuted in 1953. They were available in the UK by 1960.”

Good knowledge / looking on the net,
I had forgotten all about Special K and Bran Flakes, those were both to be avoided unless desperate because it was rumoured they might actually be good for you or give you the shits in the case of Bran Flakes :-)

Special K were awful. Is it still made?

I never liked Ricicles (sugared Rice Krispies) although Rice Krispies with sugar are one of my favourite snacks. I ofter have them after a night match for supper. And yet Frosties are ggggrreeat and that’s the same idea, Corn Flakes coated in sugar.

One of life’s mysteries. Arthur C Clarke never investigated it.
