Noticed that Keely is entered in the 800 on Saturday at the Silesia DL meeting but in a non DL race. She's also entered at Lausanne at the DL meeting there the following Wednesday. Will be great prep for the World's, just hope she comes through those races healthy.

Can't just be funding because the runners get peanuts unless they're world class. It could be our selection policy come to think of it too, we might have qualifiers who weren't taken due to expectations.

Back onto the runners though, brilliant from Innes Fitzgerald, she's got huge potential.
That lone front run in the 3000 was mightily impressive.
The U20 women put in a really good team effort.

Some outstanding performances from the GB u20's today, now topping the medal table. Our girls really are exceptional now at u20 and u23 level, there's so much promise for the future.

The lads 800m, no spoilers, but interested to hear if the judges got it right? I thought they did.
Last week, I was reading about the young lady Phoebe Gill who was the youngest GBR track athlete for 40 years at last years Olympics. I was wondering why she wasn’t at the recent UK Championships, it seems she’s not competing all season due to a fibula stress fracture. Hopefully, her being so young, her bones can heal properly with full rest and she will be back to her best on return.

Did exactly that same in the 5k and any other U20 race she runs in. She obviously can't do that against the seniors yet but she reminds me so much of Paula Radcliffe, not stylistically but with her guts, determination and front running tactics.

I was so much looking forward to her running this season, think she did the injury in April but it might be for the best long term that she can take some time out now.

I did hear she was about to resume training at the end of June but realistically training hard to try and get ready for the UK championships might have caused more problems, so an understandable and probably wise decision was taken.

While I'm waffling, I suppose everyone knows Mondo broke the WR again yesterday. It was a very good meeting in Budapest and is on the World Athletics website for anyone who wants to watch the meeting it in its entirety.

Does he get a bonus so aims to break it by the minimum amount each time?

Yep, tough but clearly an infringement through which he improved his position.

Doing the Bubka?
It’s become a farce that has. Rules need altering. I’d make increments 3cm minimum.

On another note, just a heads up - Keely’s comeback race on the iplayer at 2.45pm today apparently. Regular tv coverage from 3pm. (Her event isn’t classed as a Diamond League event for today)

Good man, cheers.
