Oasis reunion

Jealous I missed it.
Hopefully not long until they're back. However it probably won't have the same buzz as these concerts if they do come back next year.

From following all things Oasis on social media recently a few things that have struck me are firstly the amount of younger people who wouldn't have been born when Whats the Story came out, who are fans.
Also the friendly atmosphere in the crowd. In a world full of misery and division at the minute, this is rare.
Yeah, exactly this. The atmosphere was lovely.. everyone just enjoying themselves, whether they were in or out of their heads, or selling cold beers and bucket hats from their doorsteps, or sipping pints outside every pub for a square mile around the stadium.. not a hint of bother.
Only time I saw the police they were getting hugs and selfies taken.. crazy..

Slane is a bit of a nightmare, travel-wise.. but a good venue if you get the weather. Hard to beat the noise generated in the bowl of a stadium though..
Went to see Queen there in july 1986. Found the venue disappointing. The concert had to finish in daylight, as the venue didn't have floodlighting back then. So the light show was negated by the daylight. And (being an Irish summer), it pissed down. Plus, it was a nightmare to get away from afterwards. I get the fact that it's an iconic Irish venue, but I was very unimpressed with it. Croke Park would be the better venue these days.

Couldn't argue with that.. saw The Verve and The Rolling Stones there on different years. Underwhelmed on both occasions. It's just TOO big maybe. And at the Stones, we spent most of the gig trying to stay on our feet and not get washed down the hill in a river of p'ss, mud and sh!te.. the stage was miles away and the busses back to Dublin were even more miles away..
Phoenix Park is pretty rubbish too.
Malahide Castle is much better but maybe not big enough for Oasis.

The lads must have enjoyed their stay in dublin....noel couldn't stop smiling on the 2nd night. Well received. Loads of blues on their tour crew. Hope they all enjoy the rest of the tour coz they were all cool.

To be fair, she would have been 68 at the time and it’s rare for the Irish to ever go truly mad for our monarchy.

Well the wait is nearly over for me. After enviously watching everyone get to see them over here, I am off over the pond to see them in LA next week. I am watching Supergrass in Hollywood on the Friday and Oasis on the Sunday at the Rose Bowl. If I can get a cheap ticket for the Saturday gig I will go to that as well.
I have dug some of my classic tops out in preparation. Just realised that my 92 home top has the football league badges on the sleeves. You had to buy them separately and sew them on yourself. My auntie had to do it for me.
That Tevez top is my favourite ever City shirt.1000062430.jpg

Cracking Day out yesterday - down on the bus from Belfast, parked up at a decent pub, few beers, walked up to Croke Park (all very well organised) - great sets by Cast and Ashcroft then the main men who were absolutely superb several beers more then back on the bus and home in bed for about 2 a.m. Beers were €8 pint which all things considered I was happy enough with. Some of the merchandising though I thought was a bit eye watering - £40 for a bucket hat FFS
I bought one of the football shirts from Adidas (blue) In my usual XL but they’re bloody enormous so it’s still in the bag with the tags still on it.. I’ll have to try and find a Large and sell mine on
