Have many of our “fans” become entitled?

It was insolation just him.
The problem is, that City fans in their early to mid 20s have never known anything else but relative success. They sing about never winning at home, and never winning away, but many of them can’t walk the walk, I’m afraid.

I was disappointed with Sunday's result but I was out and about on Monday with one of my City shirts on. It's enough for me for City to exist. I have already seen us win more than my most optimistic dreams. I think being a Stretford Blue, sticking up for our Club on a daily basis is part of my DNA.

Blues support our great Club in their own ways. I don't agree that wider social media is worse than on here. There's a share of people on here who use their anonymity to target fellow Blues. It's better to focus our energies on getting behind the lads. I feel there are going to be a lot of close games which we can win if we have the 12th man.

;-)

It's probably already been said; I don't think it's entitlement but we have come to expect a high level of performance, across the club, which sadly, is currently lacking for one reason or another

The problem is if you’ve been having rampant sex with Michelle Keegan every night for a decade and suddenly she’s fucked off and your left picking up the odd 6/10 from the estate, your head’s going to fall right off.
And the estate bird is rinsing you for more money and restricting you from sharing her with your mates ;)

The odd 6/10 the estate is the stuff that dreams are made of.

Well, my dreams anyway.

I'm not sure about being entitled, I think yoyoing up and down the league is easier than having to win every week.

Then there's the media pressure and the way they treat City differently from other teams and the old red cartel love in for instance.

I think going to the match helps too, as you're not sat in your bedroom with no one to bounce off.

In the old days the only expectation was avoiding relegation. Probably the last 8 matches were nervouse games, now its every single one.

It also helps that Bluemoon and Social Media weren't around when we were truly shite.

In contrast the void has helped perpetuate the myth that nobody ever complained after a bad result
We just got pissed and looked forward to the next game.
If you believe all that, you're stupid.

Some fans forget we went nearly 35 years without winning anything and had to endure constant piss- taking from the Rags in particular during this period Considering we’ve won everything in the last few years you’d expect some patience in what is no doubt a new era. The anger and bile on here after three games is staggering.

It’s mainly the Lagos and Mumbai faithful who are the most entitled. Few Mancs have as well, but it’s the former that poison it.

Is she related to Kevin Keegan?

I'm not sure avoiding relegation was always an expectation!

I'd agree. It's too easy to say it's entitlement. I think the kick back from the fans is more to do with the football we're playing. I genuinely don't think it's about winning fuck all last year. The football is turgid and has been for over a year now. If we were playing exciting football and losing games then yes people would moan, but not about being bored watching God's own team.

Disagree. My sons are in that age bracket and they take defeat in their stride better than most of the FoC's on this forum. Same with the young lads who go away or in SSL1. They know how to party even when the shits hitting the fan.
There's some right moaning old 2hats going to City now. God knows how they made it through the 80's and 90's? Maybe it's them who feel entitled because they went through shitty times and now they can't actually take the rough with the smooth.

Expectation bias has definitely moved the goalposts over the last 20 years.

Sadly, some fans forget we used to be just like, for example, Everton fans…diehards supporting the less successful team in a big football city, having it rammed down our throats everywhere we went!

The only saving grace, minimal though it may be, is that the main rivals fighting for PL & CL success (Liverpool, Arsenal & Chelsea) are NOT the team in whose shadow many of us grew up under.

The last decade of success has been an absolute dream that many of us never expected to see realized. It has been and, if there is a dip thereafter, it can only be expected, as in the modern era no-one can be expected to win everything every year…EVEN THOUGH WE DID FOR A FEW YEARS!!

This year’s expectation? COMPETE!

There is no reason we can’t compete in every competition and get into the Champion's League again next season. In fact, the club is literally structured to qualify for the CL every year…and I’d venture that Pep constructs his squad for the CL more than the PL!!

Good luck to us all.
