To be fair to chippies, fish was about £1.50 a stone at Smithfield in 1970 its now about £70. Energy prices in 1970 were massively lower in 1970 and rates/council tax. Think you must have misread or misunderstood my post. Not sure how Gordon Ramsey and cost of fish and chips fits in and I never said you eat what passes for chicken these days. I was merely saying the overhead costs for chippies these days are nowhere near in comparison to 1970 . Chippies are still good value for money considering the cost of their raw materials and energy costs which are amongst the highest in the worldI have never ever paid that amount for Fish And Chips, did Gordon Ramsey cook it :) I don't eat shit Chicken and overpriced fast food.
