Liverpool may be happy to see us pay that bit more for Sterling. However, they are likely to lose any benefit they have due to the fact that other clubs know they have an injection of £50m. I guess it is doubtful that FSG will make most of that money available.[/
Think they're trying to squeeze every bean out of us because aswell as having to strengthen their playing squad they're redeveloping anfield which is a big financial burden on em.

Isco or Reus in my eyes are superior & a similar price

Would this be the Isco who has done an interview about a week ago (a real one, with quotes and all) saying he's not leaving Madrid this summer?

The Reus who just signed a new contract with his boyhood club and doesn't seem interested in leaving in the slightest?

They're both superb players and I'd love to see them at City, but I don't think either of them are available full stop, never mind naming a price.

Oh and Sterling imo is 10 times the player that Reus was at 20.

Sterling also used to the EPL and Stoke away etc

If £50m gets the deal done then £50m it is.
Not a lot of point in being 'the richest club in the world' if we don't maximise that fairly unique advantage.
Can't wait to see the outcry within the media if this deal gets done.
Let's make them squirm.

If we have put 50m in I reckon we just want the deal over the line now.

I had a feeling 40m+5m in add-ons would be the next offer but I get the feeling we don't want to waste anymore time negotiating.

To be fair to Liverpool they have held firm like the did with Suarez and are going to get full whack out of us.

And to be fair, you never see Chelsea fucking about, they seem to get their transfers done in hours let alone days/weeks.

It's difficult to know what a player's value is at 20 and that's where our critics take this, but go back 11 years when an 18 year old Rooney was sold to the rags for £25m and the critics of that time were hailing this move as if Jesus had been reborn to this world. About the same time, they also forked out £30m for 23 year camel gob. Similar reaction. There may be a difference in the age grouping, but those transfer fees were extortionate in a manner that they are now, the difference then being that they were being bought by "The World's Greatest Football Club©" whereas we are just a rich man's toy and he has little better to do than ruin our league with his money so we will always face slagging off until the day we win the Champions League in a fashion that was as delightful on they eye as Barca when they destroyed the English game in a way that was to kick start our own club's development to where we stand now. Only time will tell how Sterling affects that, and if he does, £50m would be a snip.

Agree.

If paying an extra 5m means we get Sterling in for a full pre-season it is worth it in my opinion.
As you say mate, the spread of the extra £5M over a 5 year plan isn`t worth all the fucking about.Lets see if LFC have got the conviction of their statement, that indeed £50M would be a selling amount.Would you trust a Scouser ? ;)
