I see your point but the timescale could be simply down to Sterling wanting a fortnights holiday away from all things football. That works for City if we know the deals in the bag. There's no need to push the deal if that's the case.

May be true being as the echo said they would reject the previous bids before the club actually did. This would seal it imo

Yeah I guess we'll never be privy to the ins and outs of these deals so it's all just guesswork on our parts.
The only thing that matters to me is seeing Sterling starting for us when the season kicks off. How we get to that point doesn't bother me too much. I honestly think this lad could become a huge hit at City, I've got a good feeling about this one.

But then we could also lose out to another club. Maybe no one else interested at the price we aleady bid but if we now said only £25m and they wanted more, someone could nip in for £30m.

I think the lad can be good for us and we should try and get it sorted. £50m over 5 years and we win stuff will be well worth the money
