De Bruyne?

Anyone else think this is dependant on nasri going?

Given that we currently have the full 17 foreign players in our squad, it's certainly dependant on somebody going. I'd like to see Nasri moved on this summer but i think our first signing in this position, be it KDB or somebody else will be a replacement for Jovetic.

people still going on and on about Money!

ask yourself just one question Will he improve us? if the answer is yes we should buy him the amount I don't give 2 hoots it's not our money..

A French media outlet with a scoop of that magnitude involving an English club, a German club and a Belgian player.

I imagine it will be 50 million euros we're offering for De Bruyne.

£50 million is 70 million euros, which seems very excessive IMO.

Have to agree. He may have done well in the Bundesliga this season but he just doesn't have the pace to be worth a transfer fee of more than £40m

70 million for a 24 year old, I'd expect him to take us to the next level and be world class or very close to it.

De Bruyne is a good player, a very good player, but not a 70 million world class player.

The issue is I have absolutely no idea whether these figures are true or just made up but as usual many people just take what they read on twitter and in the press as gospel. Most transfers have undisclosed fees but they somehow have a life off their own where a certain figure seems to be taken as a matter of fact £42m for Mangala when no-one knows the actual figure

What does it matter to any of us supporters the people who are paying these fees are clearly happy to do so and they have a closer handle on the financial implications so why do we as fans feel the need to be quasi accountants we should be discussing the footballing merits not the prices

£50m is absolutely fine if you ask me. Yes, it's a hefty fee, but you have to take into consideration that we're bidding for the main man of an already wealthy club, it'll take a big offer to convince them to part with him. De Bruyne was nothing short of phenomenal last season, and I doubt he'll be a one-season wonder as he has a great hardworking attitude, in interviews it always seems like he's hungry to prove to people what he can do, particularly in the CL, so if anything he'll probably only get better.

We're going to have to pay out of our pockets for our three main targets this season, the goal is to take the extra step towards the CL now, combine this with prices always going up in modern football and these fees aren't as unreasonable as they might seem at first.

May be wrong here, but I get the feeling that Wolfsburg might just be watching the Sterling scenario, before naming their price.
They will let him go IMO........just trying to be smart about it and get their money's worth.

That is because Tolmie posted earlier today that something is going to happen with De Bruyne over the next 48 hours. I reckon all the blue mooners have had a crafty squid on City signing him on the back of this.
Sky bet odds static for days and at 10.50pm tonight MCFC 4/6, stay at Wolfsburg 11/10, Bayern10/1[/QUOTE
