De Bruyne?

Aside from being a World-class player. De Bruyne would probably become our set-piece specialist. Which is always good to have.

Can he play CM or is he ACM?

Nothing said has changed my opinion that at least Dzeko or Jovetic will leave before we sign De Bruyne. If we do sign him then our position in selling will be weakened by the fact Roma or whoever will know we have in excess of 17 foreign players and need to unload. It will be the same for Pogba (unless he is a homegrown - I don't think he is)

In some ways it doesn't matter whether Pogba is home grown or not. We can only have a squad of 21 plus under 21s as we have no club trained players. So if Wright, Hart, Clichy and Sterling are our 4 home grown it doesn't matter if Pogba is HG or not he will still take up one of the other 17.

Using De Bruyne as a center mid is the same as using Silva as a center mid, technically it can probably work but it's kind of a waste, in fact Silva might even be better than De Bruyne there because while neither of them are great defensively Silva isn't afraid of going in for tackles and such, plus he's also a better dribbler. De Bruyne's one weakness is that he's poor defensively, and it's one of the reasons Mourinho let him go from Chelsea.

Either way I think 4-2-3-1 will be best if we get De Bruyne, 4-3-3 should only be used against attacking-heavy teams like Arsenal or Barcelona where we need to be more responsible, in which case we'll probably have to bench one of Sterling, De Bruyne or Silva. I think once Silva ages and he'll decline/need more rest that's when we'll switch to using 4-3-3 primarily.

I'm not sure how you embed the line up, but I think it would be a staight 4-2-3-1. De Bruyne on the left, Silva in the middle, Sterling on the right.

De Bruyne used to be a winger, and he does a lot of drifting out wide to receive the ball before carrying it into the middle.

Not that it really matters, as we know with Pellegrini it will be a fluid front 4 with them all mixing.

What site is the lineup builder thing on?

I'm not sure, I think the usual one is lineupbuilder.com, but his looked different.

What media though? Fuck me please be true.

Pretty sure this is the same reports we heard yesterday, where they did the cartoon of Kompany with a Belgium flag greeting Denayer and De Bruyne. It's about 10-20 pages back in this thread if you fancy trawling through. I've never heard of either paper, but they're Belgian and had very dutch/flemish looking names.

wish we could get this one done, asap, mainly because I am very impatient , but also because it would be great to give all new signings the longest preseason together .

Our attack is going to be so fucking good. I got a hard on when it was Nasri, Silva, Aguero and Dzeko but De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling and Aguero is just unreal, absolutely unreal.
