De Bruyne?

I'm getting more excited on this one the more it drags speaking to Chavs at work, people on here contributing great info on him I can only feel positive on this...I really do feel he could be our marquee signing (as well as Sterling) not to say I wouldn't love Pogba too (not like I'm greedy or anything) but I think de Bruyne is at the right age where he'll walk into any side and improve them. Champions League next year if we sign him! Straight to the bookies for me if/when we do.

For Manchester City, the change from Kevin De Bruyne priority: After SPORT1 information of the Belgians to be the king of the summer transfer. Klaus Allofs brakes.
Manchester City the basis for successful sports betting starts a transfer last attack on Wolfsburg's Kevin De Bruyne. After SPORT1 information the British are willing to pay 72 million euros for the Belgians.

Bild are just quoting the Mirror and haven't a clue. And Klaus Allofs said they have received no offer whatsoever, but if they do, they have an obligation in respect of the player, to consider it. City playing this pretty cool i think.

Why is there 2 figures - one of 80 and one of 72 - in the sports bild communication?

If a bid has gone in, even for the lower figure of €72m that is a lot of cash in sterling that must be around £57.5m. Wow.

That would surely be accepted.

If we have bid €80m, that tops £60m. I'd be amazed at that sum turned out to be the one we shake hands on.

Even Allofs would not be able to turn that one down, surely.

Every day I get a Bleacher Report update on my cell phone that Wolfsburg has "warned" off City. Is that code the transfer bid must go up 5 million?

Are those people that are suggesting we could now win the champs league with him in our team massively over exaggerating or am i severely underrating this guy? There's no doubt he's a good player, very good even, but is he the player to provide the step up to be able to compete with the likes of Real Madrid and Barca? I just don't see it, especially when you look at what we have in similar positions, he'll be a great addition but will he drastically improve our starting 11? I'm struggling to even fit him into the team.

whatever happens, this will come to a conclusion in the next 48 hrs assuming the Bild quotes are genuine and not the result ( as is the case of the crappy Mirror) of sensationalist shit scrabbled together by a tired old hack desperate to get pro rag copy on the back page.

When Ric says he thinks the deal will be done at £46M then id listen given his recent info.

His value has risen exponentially in a short space of time. I can't confess to knowing everything about him but read a lot of positive things. Is he as good as someone like Hazard?

Tough to answer that as it's apples and oranges. In terms of skill, technique and explosiveness Hazard is definitely the better player. But in terms of drive, vision and winners mentality KDB has the edge. So overall i think they both are able to have a similarily big impact on a team.

Also what bothers me most with Hazard is that at times he will zip past 2 or 3 players only to then turn around again and give the most lazy pass backwards or try and beat another defender while he could've passed or taken a shot. Once KDB passes his guy the opposition is in some trouble.

the defence isn't good enough to win the champs league.
I'm expecting our defence to be better this season after allowing for "bedding in" last season.
IMHO the bigger obstacle is tactical naivety against European teams (and occasionally English ones too).
The addition of De Bruyne, Sterling and even Delph should enable us to be more tactically astute this season even if we have no new faces in defence.
Attack isn't always the best policy as Custer demonstrated so graphically at the Little Bighorn !!!
