  1. Hey guys! First of all i'm very glad that Juventus won and found the way back on the winning track. It was a very fair match, though the referee was a dumbass and donated you a irregular goal. But i'm very wondering why some Manchester City supporters believe their team is a TOP CLUB and talk as Juve is a little Team (For those who have a short memory, remember, we won the Champions league twice, we're Vice-Champion of Europe) . Did you forget where your Team have been before Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan was your Owner? That's very arrogant guys. Some of you should learn to be more modest and to have more respect for a big team like "JUVE". I'm not here to start drama. Just want to know why the majority of you guys is so respectless regarding Juve (and badly informed - our squad isn't that bad on the paper if you are able to think outside the box).
Sorry if anyone of you feel offended, just disappointed about the sore loser discrediting Juventus!

See you again soon (@juventus stadium)

The vast majority of City fans have the greatest of respect for Juventus...you are a great club. Your comment above that the majority of City fans are ''respectless" regarding Juve is completely wrong. Congratulations on your victory last night.

Just taken 4 1/4 hours to get home (thanks highways agency), so not particularly happy.

How did we throw that away ?

At 1-0 they were there for the taking, the Sterling sub was the key, we should have kept his pace on, and taken Nasri's sideways and backwards off.

The first half missed chances should have been taken too.

Hart 7
Sagna 7
Kompany 7
Mangala 7
Kolorov 7
Fernandhino 7.1
Yaya 6
Nasri 3
Sterling 6
Silva 6
Bony 4

Otamendi 5
de Bruyne 6
Aguero not on long enough

Not good enough application from many, our passing was a bit of joke at times, and our finishing poor.

Good points made on the game...would just say that I think that Fernandinho deserves a higher mark for his excellent performance tonight.

Just watched the game now and I must say, that was some serious deja vu.... I'm guessing we're gonna beat the snot out of the last two teams we play in the group stage to squeak through as the 2nd seed and face Bayern, you heard it here first.

Other than that it's so frustrating to see the exact same team in the exact same competition playing the exact same meek and lethargic football.

Nasri should be a sub-only player at this point.

Sorry, but you gotta call a spade a spade, City was unstoppable before tonight while Juventus couldn't win for the life of them. History has no place come kick-off, it's who's hot, who's not and who can have a moment of brilliance. We were hot, you were not and you guys had the moments of brilliance.

Runners up? Jesus, we'll be luckyu. Fancy Juve and Sevilla to get out of this group. Not us.

And we finish 3rd and get into Europa League. That is our level to be honest. Let's win the EL and the PL and it would be a fine season.

Sad as this game has been, I am certain we will win this group. We will tie the home game to Sevilla. Win home and away to Monchengladbach, and beat both Sevilla and Juventuss on the road.

Of this, I have no doubt.

Big ask especially after losing a game we should have been able to hold onto at home.

We certainly need to ensure we get the better of Sevilla over two legs or at worst don't lose a game to them to keep our hopes of going through alive.

Hart -7
Sagna -7
Kompany -6.5
Mangala -6.5
Kolarov -6.5
Nasri -4
Yaya -5.5
Fernandinho -8.5
Silva -5
Sterling -5.5
Bony -5

Slow, predictable, one paced, no sense of purpose, naive, wasteful. That about sums it up.

Gladbach and sevilla are must win games. It's not an easy group but for the money we've spent it'd be a fucking embarrassment to get papped out.

Said the same to my mate on the way home. I'm tied in for the 3 home games but won't be wasting another penny on CL football.

We're shite at it and the entertainment value is zero. I'd rather we had a go and got beat instead of slowly passing the ball sideways.
Agreed. The pace is slow and players hit the deck at the slightest touch. Naive of us maybe, but isn't fun to watch.

I think we're not giving Juve enough credit. Too many of us have looked at their domestic form and assumed it would translate to European form, even though for us, in the past, it has rarely had any correlation.

They came out with a much higher tempo than I expected in the first 10-15 minutes, and it rattled us a bit. For me, Nasri was ineffective when he had the chance to step up, because the Juve midfield had committed to shutting down Silva, which they did very effectively (so much so that I've seen people on here slating Silva for having a bad game).

The subs were wrong in the circumstances, Sterling was getting space, and while he should've done better with the chances he had, I feel as if he would've come good had we stuck by him.

This all being said, Juve's goals were near impossible to defend, the ball from Pogba for Mandzukic was perfect, and the way Morata took his opportunity was perfect - there's not much we could really do about either.

Football is a game of fine margins. Had Sterling hit his shot a little higher and/or wider, we could've been three up. If Fernandinho had put either of his long range strikes on target, I doubt Buffon, despite being brilliant today, wouldn't have had much of a chance. Yaya came very close too with his curling effort, bar another great save. On another day, this could've been our game, comfortably too. Had our decisions from players and management been better, we could've had this game beyond doubt quite early. The only difference is, Juve capitalised on their chances. Football is a game of fine margins, we learn from this and move on.

Onwards and upwards.

As someone said on here:
Slow, predictable, one paced, no sense of purpose, naive, wasteful. That about sums it up.

Silva and Toure below par. Nasri even worse. Sterling guilty of missing to open chances to prove he is a waste in front of goal. Fernandinho the sole player who looked like he could handle playing a CL-game. By far not good enough and a real big downer to a positive start. A BIG downer.

Setback yes but depends on how we respond as always.

Just naivety to let a lead slip at home and an example that shows we are still a long way off the pace in Europe.

Utter shite, no excuses this time around. Pellegrini should be blamed too, why play a half fit Silva. KDB must have started. And Bony terrible to say the least. Fernandinho, the only one to come away with some credit. Nasri and Silva in the same team from the get go not happening. There was a reason why we looked superb while playing with Navas and Sterling on either side of Silva. Now I am honestly apprehensive on how KDB and Silva are going to work together as both of them want to operate in the same place. Hugely dissapointed with our showing today. :(
KDB doesn't want to operate in the same place, he goes where Pellegrini plays him....

The manager at fault for that decision

Well, I guess this is going to be a theme for the next few days. I feel like I watched a different match to the one being talked about in this thread. I thought For the majority of the match we were much the better side. We played with a decent tempo, we moved the ball crisply, and were overall excellent right up until the final shot/pass. Our attacking players all four of them were very poor, but behind them everyone was excellent to my mind. Toure, Dinho, Sagna, Kompany, Manga, really showed that they are top CL players. Kolarov struggled but that probably had a lot to do with Sterling really struggling in front of him.

Nothing lost though and not a disaster by any stretch of the imagination. I still expect us to win the group. Juve won't get six points off Sevilla and we won't lose in Turin.

Must say I totally agree, we created enough excellent chances to have put it to bed inside 60 minutes, wasteful in front of goal and come on Gigi made some very good saves on the night.

Nasri and Silva in the same side doesn't work for me though.

+1 to both.

I avoid the match thread (entirely) and post match threads like the plaque until the day after when everybody has calmed down (or are still passed out).

Disappointing yes, but we'll regroup and hopefully give WHU a serious scare on Saturday.

not read anything before so apologies if i'm going over old ground

it was if we didn't want to be there, truly bizarre
sterling and silva were poor(never though i would say that about silva) bony looks like he's been peter principled, a club to far for him
yes juve were well organised and nullified the game where they could, impressed with their front two hounding our midfield all game
but we were too slow in all our play and to predictable, it all felt restrained and they all had lead boots on.
there are still 15 pts to play for but a change of attitude is needed

Agree with this, I think too many people got sucked in by the awful pundits and are just spouting the shite they heard on tele. If Sterling takes his chances the mood and view of the game would be poles apart. As shit as that defeat feels nothing in the group is decided after 1 game.
