Attendances

Dunno, but there were plenty of Germans where I was sat. Very quiet in the last ten minutes though.
It was about 41,869 (from memory).

There were Germans everywhere. They were in the City end behind the goal. A bit if bother but it really could have been a lot worse. Credit to both sets of fans for behaving. Was loads round me but all very good natured. I reckon there was 5,000 there at least. Their support was really loud. 3,000 of them in the South Stand made twice as much noise as it is when its full of City

Bad call mate, you missed a belter ;)
Yeah but if he had gone to the game and used the tram Tolm would probably have missed all the last 3 goals.
Nothing quite like being there though, great atmosphere when those 2 quick goals went in and news of Juve losing buzzing round the ground. It reminded me of 2012 when were beating WBA at home and hearing the rags were losing to Wigan, then everyone cheering walking down the spirals at final whistle at Wigan.

perhaps if the city bandwagon jumper fans could be bothered to turn up there wouldn't be opposing fans in our stands ,waste of space gloryhunters go back to supporting them fckers from Salford

Not going tonight - as cant be arsed and I want to see what my xmas tree looks like - will watch on Channel 5 with a few beers - means i can watch until the final whistle as i will have no traffic to beat - in fact i am tempted to watch it all from my bed. Think will be a poor 34,000 ish. We have some tossers as fans.

Was the tosser comment directed at me ?

A steward told me Gladbach asked City for 12000 tickets, they got 3000. There were empty seats in absolute swathes, I bet their fans who wanted to come over yet couldn't get a ticket were gutted I can imagine them saying "I could have sat there, or there, or there".

The thing is City's own T&Cs state that only home fans can buy tickets in the home end and there were Germans, in colours, up chanting and celebrating goals EVERYWHERE! Which just makes City's T&Cs a fucking joke.

I'm in the Cup scheme and can't be arsed tonight, either.

It's going to cost me £50 to leave two seats empty.

The fact we are through, the fact we are on TV, the fact I can see my two little kids before they go to bed, the fact my 30 minute car journey across Manchester is increasingly taking well over an hour and a half, the fact when I use the tram I have to leave ten minutes early just to be in the queue with the other couple of thousand who are already there before me.

And the fact I am still pissed with the general attitude and desire of a team at the weekend.

It works two ways, I don't suppose any of our players have decided to take a hit in the pocket.

I literally couldn't give them away today, having offered them to at least six different people who I thought might appreciate a freebie game in the Champions League.

People choose to have lives and prioritise other things, outside of City, so others need to chill and not worry about whether our players will fail to be inspired by empty seats, which some will be embarrassed more by how it looks on TV.

I took pelters the other day for admitting the same myself about the teams desire under the manager, some of these superfans on here need to wind there fucking necks in.

Pick and choose if you like, but then you miss games like that.

And for me, its when it gets difficult that a club needs its fans although those that went were drowned out by 3,000 away fans. They really were loud

You can only look after yourself when it comes to attending or not.

The game was in part a dead rubber as who saw juve losing so that might have contributed to empty seats.

I went and thought first ten mins we looked good, then faded a little but second half played really well.

I await the draw

Yes it was a good game, it wont do the club any harm playing in front of 40,000 , might kick them up the fucking arse a bit, its not just happening at City, its widely reported there were close on 10,000 empty seats at Arsenals last home CL game.

Cheap ticket prices (£20).

If you go for entertainment and a good night then I can understand why fans don't go because at home especially the European games have been miserable

However what made City fans special were the number who stood by the club when we were getting worse. In fact the worst we got the more support we got. Thanks to them we're playing in the last 16 of the Champions League now.

I not sure when 40000 at city suddenly become a poor attendance. I remember getting close to 18000 at one time when we bear Huddersfield 10-1.

It looks bad in the bigger stadium but it still a good crowd

But 5,000 were BMG.

You're right though. A few years ago, our midweek cup crowds were embarrassing. We couldn't fill the ground for Quarter Finals. We rely on season ticket holders many of whom now live out of Manchester

3000 BMG wasn't it ?

We do seem to have had a hell of a lot of home games over the past 3 weeks. 4 home games in 18 days just before xmas is bound to have an impact on attendances. All that considered i think 40k for last night is a pretty good turn out. Unfortunately now with the bigger stadium it spreads people out even more making it look worse than it was.

They had more than the usual away end. They spilled over into the neighbouring block in the South stand. They had a block in the Colin Bell Stand and little pockets all over.
They were really good. Amongst the best fans that have been to City

Our last two CL home games have been really good, some of the best matches I've been to. With a guarenteed 2nd leg at home meaning the tie is decided on the night, as long as the club price it right, we should get a very decent crowd for the last 16

We were 3 season card holders who missed last night. Just couldn't make it . We have 300 mile round trip every home game and most midweek games have to take time off to get there. Also just moved house and got the builders in also just before Xmas . Sorry but sometimes no matter how good value tickets were somethings have to give.

I was one of them mate when we were shit so I don't need a fucking history lesson about supporting city, I chose the CC cup game and took the parents and my lad-£40 for four tickets.-nearly as many at that game as there was last night, that should tell you peoples attitude to last nights game.
