Arsenal post match thread

This is not all to do with the defence, there is not enough from our defence or midfield to close down space and keep possession. That is 100℅ something that is coach-able. Yaya let midfielders run off him without even an attempt to get back at them, its not fucking on and the fact that the manager refuses to out him for it and move him to the bench is a fault of his part again.

That game was a cruel glimpse into the reality of why this team won't win this league.

Sloppy and disinterested as fuck defensively (from front to back not just the defenders).

To easy to beat (5 league defeats already)

No collective 'stepping up' when things aren't going right.

To many key and experienced players out injured for long periods and / or trying to play their way back to full sharpness (Kompany, Zabaleta, Aguero, Nasri, Silva).

Toure only playing properly when he can arsed.

No proper back up for Aguero.

To same-ish an approach. No contingencies.

Sorry kids but it isn't happening.

We were shit, let's not sugar coat it.

Mangala CANNOT defend.

Yaya ran for the first 5 minutes then walked for the next 70.

Navas.. Can't decide what to do correctly, Cross=pass, shot=cross, pass=shot, run=stop.

Pellegrini... Wrong starting line up yet again, no leadership in the team without Kompany and it takes us til the 2nd half to wake up.

We aren't winning the league based on our current setup and form that's for damn sure.

Deserved a point. Arsenal scored a worldy and from some terrible defensive play from Delph/Mangala. Particularly Mangala.

Pellegrini betrayed his own ideals tonight (not the first time this season away from home in a big game) and it bit him on the arse. Stick to what we know. Play your best attacking line up instead of fucking about with Delph/Dinho/Toure.

We've just gone stale under Manuel, I know he won't get the bullet but we'd be better off without him for rest of the season, the players look like they can't be arsed with him any more.

Perhaps like last season, when the players realise we may not qaulify for the CL they will start performing

chasing 2 goals with 20 minutes to go, do you mix it up and put your second sub striker on and play 2 up front?.................. No of course not what fucking idiot would do that??? Just stick Navas on!

Not stale, but he's second guessed himself too much this season. Too many half and half team selections. Should've played KDB/Silva/Navas behind Raheem with Toure and Dinho in a midfield two.

It's all gonna be moot come the summer, but it's disappointing that he's going out trying to compromise for the sake of results.

As i have expected it, we once again have been utterly poor against a decent team.
Hart kept us in it by disallowing two sitters which would have killed the game and Yaya's late brilliance must not hide the fact that we are
so bland and uninspired against good oppositions.
Trashing relegation fodder teams while loosing to any top 4 contender might secure us the 40 points but hardly give us any decent chance at the title.

completely agree

yayas goal puta gloss on a really average performance and we need to remember we only just scrapped the last home game with a lucky goal.

we are just awful at present and that sits at the managers door - when he is shown it in the summer we need to rebuild around silva and kun

id sell:

kolorov
Mdm
delph
navas
caballero
bony
mangala
yaya (while he is still capable of running a game he is a complete conundrum and i don't think if pep was to come in he would be kept)

we also need to think about cover for Ferna as he aint going to be able to keep doing it

We are trying to keep Toure in the team. You can see why when but it's too sporadic. 15 mins at the end of the game is not enough. Aguero was really poor too. The trouble is we have to play him to get the Aguero we know.

You could argue we deserved a point. 2-0 at half time was a joke, but if you don't take your chances and defend like that, then you get what you deserve.

Shite performance, shite defending, shite away support.

After the De Bruyne chance we never looked interested. We need to stop starting an unfit Aguero and bring him on. Start with a fit player ffs. Don't get me started on the defence, it should have been 6 by the 65th minute.

Plenty of effort to be fair but puny attack and error-prone defence. Hardly a single individual performance worth more than 6/10. We are totally mediocre atm.

Absolutely no doubt. Was embarrassed by the performances put in by Silva, Kun, De Bruyne, in particular tonight. All three better than anything Arsenal had on display and showed none of it.
