Zabaleta confirms he will stay at City

His footballing brain is second to none and if asked who i would have to fill ANY position at a pinch, Zabba would be my man. That is not to take away from his prowess at right back, for two seasons he was the best in the world, possibly three (damn injuries). My old man loves the guy and he still says he would have him in a heartbeat at utd.

I assumed he'd gone there, already.

As for Zab. So glad he's staying. He has been brilliant for this club.
I know his legs aren't what they were, but he has a lot to offer the
youngsters, in a mentoring way.
 
Delighted he's staying (my favourite current member of the playing squad). I just hope that, come next may, we're not thinking "he stayed on one season too long". There were a few times last season when he was struggling for pace. Now; was he carrying an injury last season (I can't remember)? He's not the sort of bloke that would use that as an excuse, but it might have been a factor. Also, he's 31 now and injuries do take longer to shake off than they would 3 or 4 years back.
 
I have said for some time I think he needs to go and wasn't at our level at this point but if he's staying then so be it. We know he will fight like hell for the team -- hopefully he has a great season and proves me wrong!
 
1 season getting used to the prem. 5 outstanding seasons, i think we can forgive him one and if anyone can bring it back it is Zab Man.
epitomises city for me more than every other player.
 
I remember when Bobby used to play him at left back ahead of Aleks. When Nani and Walcott tore teams a new arsehole. Zabman safely had both in his backpocket, playing out of position mind. His passion and commitment is unrivaled. Plays like a fan PabZab.

Really hope he can stay injury free and prove a lot of people wrong. Last season was so stop start he never really managed to get his sharpness and timing back. Fingers crossed

What's odd about noting that he's lost some weight. Zaba is one of my all time favourite players.
Sounds like you got out of bed the wrong side mate.
 
Always knew that Pep wasn't daft. Made up he's getting the chance to prove what many of us always knew. Zabba is a good enough footballer to play for anybody and at 31 is nowhere near finished.
