    The none miserable bastards thread

Yep. I like a moan with the best of them but we have to remember these are the good old days, plenty of reasons to be cheerful. We keep winning. Pep is still with us. Kova scoring like Rodri, beating a fast, spirited Fulham side with the wonder goal Doku has been trying to pull off since he...

    Atmosphere 2024/25

I agree, there's an undertone to it I don't like and it's getting chucked around so much it's becoming a blue-on-blue form of abuse. It's one thing criticising the club for ticketing practices that seem to favour overseas buyers with no allegiance to the club over genuine fans. It's quite...

    Atmosphere 2024/25

Agree. Going off how vocal my 'flexi' section of the ground was on Saturday I think there's pent up demand from passionate Blues - who've been locked out of season tickets since Covid - that could work wonders in that stand. The key is not to price people out or go silly with the amount and...

Wearing your City top in public

I was in Phuket that time but with so many Issan people travelling for work you might well be right. Not as familiar as you to the country but been to Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Samet over the years and loved it.

Wearing your City top in public

Don't disagree mate - like I say it was just the odd funny look and since it was around the time Thaksin was being jailed so I just put two and two and together (and may have got five)

    Atmosphere 2024/25

TBF there were no 'library' chants from Arse yesterday - they heard us alright. They had their little 'cheating again ole ole ole', 'Arsenal, Arsenal' and the 'Wild Rover' moments - but yesterday wasn't one of those days where the away fans outsung us. There's no doubt we have quiet sections of...

    Metrolink to / from Etihad

That's what I fear. I can understand why Manchester is discouraging people from using cars but if we don't have a public transport system good enough to pick up the slack that's far from ideal. The good news is the shuttle bus service seems to be expanding out to more areas.

    Metrolink to / from Etihad

The service wasn't too bad on the way out yesterday with the elusive Altrincham to Etihad service back for the big game. But overcrowding is a real issue. I generally prefer to walk to and from town from the ground for that reason.

Wearing your City top in public

I wear City caps for luck in all kind of places and no-one gives me any shit. If anything it's a bit of a forcefield - people who are Blue will give you the nod and people who aren't mind their business. Only place I sensed a little bit of awkwardness was in Thailand - reckon that was some...

    Food and drink

Was very pleasantly surprised to be offered Guinness at CB1 yesterday and it was an excellent pint. Credit to the bar staff at my end who were fast and efficient.

    Atmosphere 2024/25

If the new stand creates more availability for STs and cheaper tickets it could shake things up. There are lively local Blues who you see at fan zones, pubs, parades who aren’t getting in the ground enough currently and we do need more of that energy in the stadium. But if the club gets it wrong...

    City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

Guilty as charged. I was between having a piss and getting a pint when they scored their second and missed Trossard getting sent off. TBH it was the rain driving people onto the concourse early yesterday more than anything. Lower stands were soaking

No doubt you need at least a few around you who are up for it. That makes all the difference

    Atmosphere 2024/25

Thing is it really does depend on where you’re sat. I thought the atmosphere was brilliant yesterday so its surprising to hear people thought it was flat. I was facing the south stand - who were at it all game - and in amongst a pocket of Blues who were up for it. The configuration means these...

    Atmosphere 2024/25

Enjoyed the atmosphere yesterday. I was pitchside CB at the south end and it was rowdy. Didn’t know what to expect moving down there but it’s a good spot.

    Atmosphere 2024/25

We probably are too hard on ourselves Tim. While it's frustrating when folk don't make an effort, we can't swallow the narrative. Even at Dortmund outside the Yellow Wall you'll see people sat there in silence. Same in Italian grounds, same in Spain. And as for clubs who get a free pass over...

    Atmosphere 2024/25

You made me laugh with this bit. As another Manchester band put it: 'Re-issue! Re-package! Re-package! Re-evaluate the songs double-pack with a photograph Extra Track (and a tacky badge)' Oasis were a marketing juggernaut then - kids who didn't really like music before lapped the whole...

    Atmosphere 2024/25

There is no way a club at our level, with the players we have on the pitch, should not be selling out a game against top tier opposition unless someone in the boardroom is getting something wrong. Can't pay, won't pay might end up being the most powerful protest of all.
