    Public enquiry into Manchester bombing

Heard some of the evidence given today on the news this evening so thought I'd bump the thread. Some of the testimonies are heart breaking. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-56241659

    Coronavirus (2021) thread

I guess the main risk would be the government trying to convince younger people to abide by any remaining lockdown rules, and this risk seeing the number of cases rise again.

I think it'll be similar to this. Either Barca accept that the clause he thinks he can trigger is applicable and he leaves as a free agent, or Messi is pissed that they're refusing, threatens to go down the Webster route, and City can agree a deal with Barca for the equivalent fee (around...

Lionel Messi | Joins Inter Miami (pg4111)

Messi has the option of contesting his contract clause in court and refusing to play until it's sorted. All while he's costing a fortune in wages and counting down to the end of his contract next summer anyway. He'll either go for free if Barca accede to his interpretation of the contract (in...

Lionel Messi | Joins Inter Miami (pg4111)

Mental, but in a one man team. To accommodate him, I believe you'd have to sacrifice some of the attacking talent that we already have.

Lionel Messi | Joins Inter Miami (pg4111)

But he can't press to the extent that Pep and the Premier League demand any more. It's why he's moved from the wing at Barca to up front. Again, I don't doubt his ability and his numbers, but I think the only position he'd be able to play in our system is the central striker. Even then, he...

Lionel Messi | Joins Inter Miami (pg4111)

I absolutely accept that he can still do it on the pitch (he's the best player in the world). However it comes at a cost. Barca play around Messi and would it be worth us sacrificing some of our style of play to accommodate him, for the massive cost or would take to bring him here?

Was coming in to ask this. Would he improve us on the pitch?

I agree with that too. Any resit (not sure why they're being called resits when no exams have been sat) fees should be waived next year. I understand the necessity of having an algorithm to bring grading in line though. They will be used every year on actually marked papers.

While the government's algorithm clearly looks like a discriminatory piece of shit, it wouldn't have been an issue had teachers graded sensibly. Predicting over a 12% grade inflation year-on-year is ridiculous. I don't doubt that many teachers feel they did their bit (I am friends with many who...

You mean that game he didn't play in?

    Kalidou Koulibaly

Imagine us biting clubs' hands off for £70m for KDB because he's 29. Ridiculous.

It's Quiet thread 14 - 'do one' edition

I saw the first half. But he stayed on for the full 90 and Atalanta (one of the most exciting attacking sides) didn't score again after that opening half hour. Again, I'm not suggesting City should go for him, but I think he presents decent value for some team on a free for a year or two when...

    Kalidou Koulibaly

He reminds me of a young Otamendi. Clearly talented, but reckless.

Just curious really. He's old but still capable at the top level

Characters develop, it's a good strategy to have a mix of them, and as we know with Sterling; the media portrayal of someone's character can be very different from reality. I'd also suggest we're missing some leadership in the squad and he's taken a very senior role at Villa at quite a young age.

It's Quiet thread 14 - 'do one' edition

Am I the only person on the forum that rates Grealish? He stands up very well against the rest of the league in retaining possession, moving the ball forward, and creating chances. All in a comparatively awful side in Villa. Also, perhaps not on a City front, but noticed PSG aren't renewing...

The fee you pay isn't necessarily indicative of the quality of player you get. City have spent fortunes on crap, and has some absolute bargains as well. Should we do away with our £30m squad player keeper and get a top class £70m one like Chelsea's?
