Exactly this. Dias, Stones and Laporte are three top drawer centre halves. The drop off to Ake (and I'm not intent on disrespecting the lad) is substantial.Selling Laporte essentially says we are happy with Dias, Stones and Ake as our centre-backs, which we can rotate as necessary... until one of them gets injured, and then we are up Sh*t Creek.
Cannot let this guy go at any cost. He is absolute class. Give him a new and improved contract RIGHT NOW.
Absolutely. Ake is a level below the other three and definitely has room to improve. Whether or not we'll see him reach that potential at City is another argument altogether. For now he's adequate 'backup'. Laporte has to stay.Exactly this. Dias, Stones and Laporte are three top drawer centre halves. I don’t think there’s anything between the three of them really. Stones is the best on the ball, Dias is the best defender, Laporte is the best of a mix of both.I really like Stones and think he had an incredible season last year, but, Laporte for me is a class above.
It’d be him and Dias as first choice for me all season.
All three are class. Laporte last season was largely passed by even when fit for Stones. This is why he wants to leave.I don’t think there’s anything between the three of them really. Stones is the best on the ball, Dias is the best defender, Laporte is the best of a mix of both.
