All three are class. Laporte last season was largely passed by even when fit for Stones. This is why he wants to leave.

If we want to keep Laporte, Stones and Dias - management needs to work out some sort of rotation satisfactory to all three. Each of the three would start every important game when fit in most other sides.

Laporte was given a ton of game time to keep him happy last year. Despite being dropped for poor performances and being 3rd choice he played 16 league games and he was only fit for 32 of them.

We were heading towards breaking all sorts of defensive records with Stones and Dias as a partnership because they were just impenetrable. Clean sheet after clean sheet.

Perhaps its the usual recency bias that has made people forget that? 13 clean sheets in 19 games. 17 wins.

Pep then broke that up by rotating Laporte in and our defence suffered for it, we started letting goals in again.

Laporte coming back from injury was bound to play below his best.

Refresh my memory here. I don't recall this.

As you seem to be a stickler for precision...

"Its" means belonging to it.

"It's" means "it is".

He wasnt coming back from injury he was coming back from being dropped for being shit.

It's not a reaction from his performance, I get City are good with players who want to leave by not making it overly difficult, but bloody hell, how in the world are we so open to selling him for £60m, that's a farce. Player of his reputation and quality won't come cheap, this is the best depth in defence we've had in a while, so I guess we'll cherish it fwiw for another season. Only weak point to our backline is the left back depth, but shows when we start commanding centre halves there instead of Aké (pairing with Mendy) even Cancelo looks great because he has a free license to get forward and be involved in our playmaking. That's a testament to Laporte's quality being able to cover the entire side so well.
How much would we have to pay if we we’re buying Laporte Do you think ? I’d say at least £80 million

Easily. I'd even argue you won't find this profile on market, let alone paying £80m for one if it's available. The market is very unforgiving

Laporte and Kompany in that run in when we couldn’t lose we’re immense and stones and Laporte had a great run

I don’t even wanna thinking about this! Us buying a the stand out centre back in the league u are talking over 100 mil I think for us

What is your problem? Laporte has never been and will never be shit. You are just wumming for the sake of getting attention.

I guess my problem is that John Stones and Ruben Dias kept 13 clean sheets in 19 games last season, had our defence the most solid it has ever looked, were keeping sides to having 0 shots on target regularly and people are pretending Laporte is a better CB.

He rightfully got dropped last season based on form and not 3 months later demanded to leave, which is weak as piss, and yet for some reason people pretend that's not happened, and he sill wants to leave.

There are plenty of CBs in the world who want to play for the best side in Europe, if Laporte wants to leave, he can go.
