Our right hand side tonight was languid and lacking energy. I really felt that as a team we thrive on high pace and crisp passing. Of course from a set piece he has the quality to get the assist but I need more from him. When Bernie or Phil play on that side we frighten teams because their first thought is to create something rather than going backwards every time. Will be really interesting who plays in the Madrid games for me Phil has given a message tonight so would be my choice.

Most of the time watching Mahrez is like having chronic constipation. You’re wondering when will something happen ffs -then all of a sudden it does and you wonder why you had to go through all that discomfort.

We played 3 down the left Ake , Silva and Jack , we played just Walker ( pace ) and Mahrez on the right so it’s going to be hard work for him , could/should ? have scored , what a ball , Ake couldn’t miss

Walker isn't much help to Mahrez, and both seem to have a natural cautious approach. Much of the play went down the left (imo), because those over there are better suited and more direct.

Today was a great team performance. Won a couple crucial tackles at the end and played for the team and hustled.

Holds onto the ball too long. The quick transition pass around the box is on but Mahrez has this frustrating habit of nudging the ball a little bit more, more, more and then he nearly loses it so passes the ball backwards. Meanwhile the opposition now have 11 players behind the ball and the the ball that Mahrez received is now back with Ederson. Frustrates me to hell!

Other than that I admit he is talented.

Strange take as he’s much more decisive than Jack on the other side and that‘s not a dig at Grealish. His ability to keep the ball and draw a couple of defenders to him before playing the ball back to KDB is one of our best ways of creating against packed defences. Pure class yesterday

The idea of drawing players to you I get, and both Mahrez and Grealish do this. Jack tends to win free kicks, Mahrez I find is mainly occupied with trying to curl a shot in top corner.

Set up our 2 goals yesterday. Didn't affect the game enough second half but compared to Foden and ALvarez yesterday I thought he was ok.

I’m a big fan of both and the going for the top corners is probably why Mahrez scores more regularly than Jack. Personally think both are superb but on Tuesday it will be Grealish and Bernie out wide. If we need a goal over the 2 legs Mahrez will be a great option from the bench. We’re very lucky that we’ll have him and Foden should we need to change things.
