Still baffled as to why we signed him (well, apart from it being a panic buy after Paqueta got charged). He's not a DM that can cover Rodri's role, yet his goalscoring/creating ability is abysmal, so you wouldn't bring him on if needing a goal.

His standout attribute seems to be going on the odd long run with the ball in dead-rubber Champions League group games last season, but beyond that I really don't see what he brings.
I imagine it went something like this: City didn't get Rice or Bellingham, then the Paqueta deal unexpectedly collapsed, so we gave Mendes a call and asked him which of his midfield clients was looking for a move. He suggested Nunes, which would coincidentally help Mendes' mates at Wolves with PSR, so we did Mendes a favour and got a half-decent squad player out of it to keep up relations for future deals. Will probably be gone in the summer.

Players don't get a chance as in a run of games is because pep doesn't rate him or more likely don't trust him with the ball possession wise technique wise! Doku straight in the side Savino straight it the side trusted! He is better than Philips but pep doesn't trust him..

Don't think it's a big deal which is why it's hasn't been anywhere else for a month. Man in night club taking pictures of another man , second man maybe over reacts a bit and takes his phone.
Why is it overreacting if someone takes a photo of you in the toilet?

Is there no privacy left in the world?

The funny thing is, Pep seems to trust Nunes more than McAtee. By the logic of some people, this must make McAtee terrible.

It doesn't.

Nunes doesn't start many games because we have some of the very best midfielders in the world. Things might change this season or might not. In any case, we can't have only world class players in the squad.

Also, many people are just clueless. The fact that Rodri didn't start in the CL final was treated like evidence that he wasn't good enough for City. Also, some people wanted to swap Gundo for Aouar..., 3 years after Gundo was at City. They didn't rate him at all. We were bound to fail with Rodri and Gundo in the middle...

Mcatee is about 12. Nunes is a grown ass international.

There a pecking order why Macteer didn't start! Nunes has this season to establish himself? Maybe Nunes is happy at playing minimal time and that's fair enough! I'd try Nunes on the left because the two times he has played there he has put in to quality crosses..

The good thing about Nunes that many are happy to overlook is that he is a versatile player, can play in the middle and on the wings. Pep likes versatile squad players. If we lack fresh wingers, say after a big CL game, Nunes can play there. If we have injury problems in midfield, Nunes can be used.

Nunes's main issue is he isn't great in small spaces. McAtee is better in this respect and will get chances.

He definitely looks better in the wide spaces and on evidence is one of the better crossers of the ball in the squad, excluding KDB who is at his own level...

What he appears to be good at is receiving a pass with his back to goal and beating a man with a quick turn and bombing forward at pace -which is something we rarely need. He also can put in a decent cross from the left in certain situations. I’m not sure he fits us at all -though I’m certain Pep knows better but we just haven’t seen it.

He is a fantastic player. Intelligent, quick, hard to dispossess and fleet footed.

Again, our system sucks for him. He'd be a star playing for Liverpool. He makes so many early runs and our guys just ignore it and continue their turgid sideways passing.

The one time Rico made his kinda run, he found Rico. Why? Because he knows to expect such movement.

Generally, our guys just ignore it and continue with the turgid sideways passes mostly dominated by Centerbacks

There’s no way you can conclude he’s “fantastic” without being either mental or wumming.

Now you’re just being silly mate :)

That's what your silly point deserves, mate. McAtee is about the same age as Doku, and older than Savinho, Lewis, Bobb. He turns 22 in about 2 weeks.

Age doesn't matter for Pep, what matters is the quality. That's why Lewis is often preferred to Walker, or Doku to Grealish.

Both McAtee and Nunes will get chances to impress. Both will be needed.
