3-5-2 leaves us badly open to counter attacks....

We're open to counter attacks in all formations.

We miss Barry

We miss Barry when he's fully fit. He was running in treacle all game - not surprising when he's missed all pre-season and the start of the season too. Surely the younger legs of Milner or Rodwell at H-T might have stemmed the RM onslaught a little more effectively ?
Yep.

No, what we missed is James Milner as he can attack and defend.

Scott Sinclair on the left would have been good too.

Barry didn't make one pass forward. And with Garcia not making penetrating passes either complicating things.

Contrast that to Madrid who used 3 DMs with much better passing range. not only that they moved up the pitch and effectively applied pressure to our MF.

THIS we missed milners defensive cover, work rate and forward passes

3-5-2 would be succesful if we had a defence that could play it right and had wingers with immense pace but we dont so why the fuck bother tonight proved I swear down Mancini is tinkering so much to prove a point but if he has a fail of a season he will see that new contract shoved up his arse.

Rant over

3-5-2 that is last time we will play that system after seeing his interview he knew he had messed up and im sure 4-4-2 from now on

Yet again we went 352 and conceded. Then we changed back. We are averaging 3+ formations per game at the moment. You can't keep messing players around like that.

Yep thats what I got from the interview. He realises he can't make it work so will return to 4 at the back hopefully.

It didn't really matter today - he could've changed it to 631 and we'd have still conceded. We were hanging on by a thread.

Yeah. I have no idea but it seems baked into this squad's DNA that they have to completely crap the bed every once in a while. Seriously it's almost clockwork.
