Ade starts the UEFA Cup game tonight. Cup-tied for Europe, then - presumably, only teams in European competition would be likely to sign him, so does that put paid to talk of him leaving?

Not strictly true, Ade could play in the Champs League from the knockout stages, clubs are allowed to register 3 new players in the January window, one of which can have played in the Europa League previously.

Yup thats correct. However, is this a deal we should be interested in? Does Benzema offer us more than Ade? Bear in mind Ade already knows what it takes to play here. Benzema doesn't and we've already got Balotelli who needs to bed in as well. I jsut think we need to have a couple of guys on board who already know the score and Ade is one.

I think if there were more to this Real would have wanted to keep Ade out of yesterdays match. Because basically, if this transfer were to happen, Real would have 1 striker for the CL group stages, 2 if you count Ronaldo, of course.

Benzema is potentially a supreme player but he's hardly a target man, which is surely what we need.

Ade did surprisingly well at winning headers last night, maybe the penny has dropped.

I really hope so. I fear Ade may spit the dummy if he doesn't get enough games, which would be a shame as i think there's very few players out there who'd be better for us...I know all the criticisms people have of him, but I think in that team with those players around him, he could be an absolute monster of a striker.

Emmanuel Adebayor has become the latest Manchester City player to voice his fears after the arrival of £130million worth of talent at Eastlands this summer.

Roberto Mancini has splashed out on Mario Balotelli, James Milner, Yaya Toure, Jerome Boateng and David Silva in this window transfer alone.

And Adebayor has accepted that he will have to fight for his place in the team or move elsewhere to further his career.
Take it or leave it: Adebayor knows he faces a tough challenge at City

Take it or leave it: Adebayor knows he faces a tough challenge at City

He said: 'Being sat on the bench for the first game of the season was tough for me. But I'm not going anywhere at the moment. I love the challenge of making it at City.

'I had a chat with the manager after the Spurs game, which was good. There is no pressure for me to leave. What I am going to do is keep enjoying my football.

'I don't want to look too far into the future. Who knows, by January maybe the manager will tell me to leave, or maybe I will ask to leave. This is football.

'What we are trying to establish takes time. It makes everything easier when you keep the same manager and the players know how to play together.'

Let's put this on hold till Jan....

I think Ade might leave in Jan, Mancini have to start our no.9 more often in League matches if he really wants Ade.

But if Ade leaves, probably Bobby Manc would go for Ibra?
