Aguero's disallowed goal

UEFA clarified that last year and said that it is when the player making the pass has his first contact with the ball (accepting that the foot can be in contact with the ball for say a third of a second when the ball is played to the player in the offside position).

Stuff like this that renders VAR daft. Shouldn't refer marginal offsides and, if they do, have a Ref's Call giving the match officials the benefits of the doubt. It's not even as if we are all sure the tech is right. Hawkeye in Cricket and Tennis has be shown not to be.

Absolutely shite implementaiton of this. Different systems for differnet competitions. Never mind the fact that fans can't understand what is going on, it takes forever, and we get decisions we shouldn't get (Dinho fouling an offside player t'other night).

BIN IT OFF

Why are they judging offsides based on his feet though? I'm sure Aguero's upper body was even further offside than his feet. Same thing happened in a Champions League game as well, marking offsides based on the feet and not the body when the body in both scenarios was furthest forward.

They're not, they're judging it based on Rudiger's heel, that is the offside line.

Rudiger's heel is the closest part of his body to the goal so that's fair enough. Perspective is very misleading. Rudiger's left foot is not on the ground so although you can see a sliver of pitch between his heel and the line that proves nothing as the image is in 2 D. If that's all VAR have to go on, then I think that they have made the wrong call. Aguero looks to be level.

The angle is completely relevant.

We know that didn't quite cross the line, but from this angle it looks like it was well over.

You can twist it however you want to suit your agenda (you always do), but in the real world, Stones cleared that one off the line (just) and Aguero was offside (just).

Again, try reading the previous posters comment and then look at Aguero in the picture. It’s absolutely nothing to do with angles, it’s all to do with Sergio’s body position. You’re trying to fight a battle without knowing what you’re talking about, then trying to use a completely different incident to prove your point and just looking like a fool.

The picture on page 5 proves what the poster said is a lie, there is no ifs or bugs, it’s a complete and utter fabrication that he’s tried to use by suggesting it was shown on a Portuguese stream no one else will have seen but you’re that set against it you’ll fight anybody.

There you have it then, what a strange person you are but the spectrum is quite wide and that's what makes life interesting. Nice chat.
You’re the one proven to be lying and trying to cover it up by suggesting it was on a different angle on Portuguese stream, like they’d even have their own camera angles. We all know foreign channels just take/use footage from other mainstream media outlets.

Even if you couldn’t go, the game was shown in every pub in the country and was available on numerous English streams. Yet I’m weird? Ok.
