Alcohol, hints, tips, advice etc.

Iv started to notice my belt is too slack,I'm on the last tightest hole and need to make a new one because my belt is doing nothing keeping my jeans up,i haven't used sugar in anything for 40 years plus, never had a sweet tooth but got a lot from beer.
But a new belt £4.99 in Home Bargains, less than the cost of a pint in most places

Well that is most perplexing. Have you taken to snacking to replace the drinking? How are you not benefiting from taking in far less calories? (Remember that the 0% Guinness is almost as calorie-laden as the full fat version.)
When I have a month off the booze I rarely lose weight as I seek other pleasures through food, especially chocolate, to act as a substitute.

Another reason i had to quit,
1 in ten times i would do.something
totaly the opposite of my true nature, and i would.be horrified the next day and could.not.believe what id said or done.
It was getting progressively.worse with me too,in my youth id get very drunk.but never caused trouble.

I am proud of myself for.realising my growing problem, and stopping.the initial.cause of why i was doing it,ie drink.

another good and positive reason to quit.

good luck.everyone
I don’t know him and neither does anyone else. I suspect he has no friends and just latches on to whoever he can. I even sat on the table right next to him pretending to watch the sport waiting for him to say something but he clearly didn’t remember me.

He smokes roll ups and drinks beer out of a can so you suspect he’s down to his last pennies. I’m letting it go solely because I feel so sorry for him.

I’m really glad I just discovered this thread. I’m drinking too much, I need to cut down. I think sometimes I should stop altogether but if I’m being totally honest with myself I would just really miss it if I did. I feel like it’d take the fun out of life.

No snacks, healthy eating & just 4 cans of % Guinness a week…..it’s a mystery why I’m not losing weight

Cheers……after over 50 years of boozing I wish I’d stopped sooner…..it’s get easier but never gets easy

Your skin is probably way healthier and you've most likely reset your liver. I imagine the quality of your sleep has improved dramatically and your general mental well being has stepped up.

Try one hour walks a day and drink plenty of water.

Just a look at some of the wankers that drink in locals is enough for me.

-What’s that say on your t-shirt?
-The Smiths.
-Who?
-The Smiths.
-The Smurfs?
-No. The Smiths. The 80’s band.
-I ain’t heard of them.
-Have you heard of Morrissey?
-Yes.
-He was their singer before he went solo.
-Oh.

Repeat with a Partizan Belgrade shirt, a break in Stockholm or if wearing a shirt and trousers makes me a bizzee.

Just thick cunts drinking their lives away who’ve appeared to give up on everything.

Whilst wet brain does exist, the idiocy you describe can exist whether someone has had a drink or not. Personally, I'd not be so hasty as to place labels......it takes allsorts, as they say......the worst alcoholic I knew was a very clever man, but as a friend said at his funeral.....you can see a broken leg, you can't see a broken mind...

Guinness zero has just 70 calories in a 440 can compared to 154 in alcoholic Guinness, significantly less.

My sleep had definitely improved, skin like a baby’s arse …. Next birthday I’ll be 70 and I work 3 days a week and on my feet all day , drink plenty of water and feeling pretty fit…

I could smell the booze on him. I left at 1pm, returned at 7pm and he was still in there. Refuses to wear glasses and a hearing aid yet insists on getting in faces.
