Are we clearly suffering from a lack of striker this season? Have midtable sides figured us out?

I think we need the option of a striker. There are matches and moments where we're just crying out for movement in the box and someone with a poacher's instinct.

But the false 9/no striker approach has us top of the league and top scorers, so I doubt we're looking to totally change how we play, or always play with a target man.

So we've got to be careful who we bring in, as if they're going to get any significant game time they also need to be able to adapt aspects of their game to how we play.

We are clearly suffering from not being absolutely perfect.

No team, including Pep's Barca, is perfect. In terms of league (or domestic) form alone Pep's City is up there with the best teams ever, and in some respects (point totals, winning runs...) does better than them. E.g. Pep's Barca never won 18 league games in a row or 21 games in all compets.

It's part of football to drop points, even the greatest teams drop points.

I think we need more aggression in the side, yesterdays first half had no one who took the game by the scruff and demanded the same of everyone else.Other than Dias, and Walker to a degree...our players are far too passive on occasion.

A couple of players, like Rudiger and Rice, along with a front man who is happy to let defenders know he's on the pitch, would offer us that fire.

You're absolutely right, these are first world probelms.

I am just looking at ways to get that extra % that will further elevate our brilliance!

100% yes in fact we are missing 2 strikers not only for the goals but to take pressure of our entire team.
We score more goals than anyone else! It also results in having least goals scored against us.

Why change something that's clearly working. Why change our whole style just to satisfy this fetish for big name strikers?

Pep follows the Vince Lombardi philosophy of coaching, innovation rather than acceptance….. 6 years ago, to accept a style of play which would see a goalkeeper as the foundation of possession was scorned upon, it’s now trying to be replicated in every league by most clubs, this striker debate is the same but the great coaches keep innovating, challenging systems and established norms, it’s why we have the greatest coach in the world and why some opinions should be taken with a pinch of salt!
