If Ortega had Ederson’s delivery I’d make him number 1Holding living up to his name all night, ref was weak.
Thought Ortega did well but not nearly enough to displace Eddie.
Yep, he was very quick and brave coming off his line a couple of times towards the end when Martinelli was causing us problems. He's an excellent back up keeper.I thought his distribution was passable.
Also great shot stopping, and bravery.
I'm not so sure these days. Certainly the Ederson of old had better passing but the recent Ederson? I'm not so sure. His kicks out to the FBs have frequently been flying out of play and his longer kicks often to nobody.Yes, I'll give him that, it was clearly a game plan so that was never going to look great for him but he was just floating them up to the half way line in the general direction of Haaland and most of the time were just headed away. Nothing special at all in that, most keepers could have done something similar imo. I'm not trying to knock him but surely people don't think he has anything approaching the passing ability of Ederson.
Really only Ederson of those has recently been a regular starter. Probably partly the reason for our drop in form.Just watching last nights ITV match intro, can't believe this bullshit about an arse weekend side and City going full strength. How funny is that, total bullshit, always thought Ederson, Walker, Dias, Cancelo, Laporte, Alvarez and Silva were our main first teamers, not one to be seen on the pitch at kick off.
The Arsenal press wasn’t allowing him to feed the ball into Rodri (as Eddy usually does) so going long was the only (and safer!) option last night. We must have been watching different matches. All I saw was him repeatedly lumping the ball up to half way, straight on to an Arsenal head.
Often just nobody short to pass to. Part of our tactics yesterday I think.Amazing how many seem turned on by punting a 50/50 ball to one of the worlds best strikers in the hope it bounces favourably .
