Apologies, I was replying to you from my phone and the profile bit wasn't visible to me. It was a good game from you guys. We were thoroughly outplayed, as depressing as it is to say that.

Still though, I'd not call it bitter to not want my crosstown rivals to win the league. What would be bitter is if I was in here downplaying how good Arsenal have been this season, and being unable to accept the good job Arteta has done.

I thought the penalty was a soft one…Bernardo clearly made the most of it (though not as bad as KdB against Fulham)…I was more concerned about Gabriel’s sending off from Manchester bred referee Tierney…ancient history now

So that's a yes.lol.
You must have thought Jesus dived for the sending off.
In the Bernardo penalty was it the first or second foul that was soft.
That Manchester ref who never gave the penalty decision.
KDB was a stonewall penalty last week.The Fulham defender knew what he had done.
You do not get penalties for staying on your feet.

Hardly surprising we have a difference of opinion on this…
 
Bernardo's penalty was soft? Maybe to a team used to pulling shirts in the box without punishment that may be correct. Over the years the decisions Arsenal have had at our expense is quite phenomenal and to moan that we get a 'soft' one is pretty insulting. I'm a FOC and can go back to before Jeff Blockleys punch off the line at Highbury. Check it out.

The problem in grievance memories is they tend to be selective…
 
League Cup January 1978, you got a corker of a penalty.

Rob Styles always did right by you too. Especially when he sent Danny Tiatto off to start the 5-0.

I've always thought that 'diving or attempting to get 'cheap free kicks when attacking the opponents area was a losers mentality and ultimately doesn't work out. We are not immune to it very occasionally (talking outside the box) but we want get the goal more than other teams, it feels.
It seemed to have got to the point with Arsenal that they (Wilshre, Ramsey and a host of others) would rather get a free kick, than see where the move took them as a team and it held them back. It's an area where Arteta has made real steps with the winners mentality. I only really see it in Tierney now, the rest are hungry to score, see how good they really are and ultimately, win.
There is now so much that refs get wrong (can't even ref the basics) that contact will never be adjudged fairly or correctly and players will attempt to deceive.
Just my humble observation!
