Great night, loads of tourists though. When you see a family of 4 or 5 U18s I think we know they not got the points! Not gonna moan cos it’s all been done on here before, but I think the days of a raucous away end will be limited to cup games or the less “fashionable” aways from now on

Anyone know what happened with the fella who got slung out near the front towards the end of the game? Seemed like an altercation with some lad who looked to be more of the tourist variety of supporter. Took loads of stewards to get him out and he went down swinging.

That's what people around me were speculating as well. Reminded me of world of sport back in the day, when the security tried to escort Giant Haystacks out of the ring and he was just swatting them away like flies!

The Yaya penalty shoot out winner at Wembley being the prime example
I was in Club Wembley at that game and it was rammed with Liverpool fans. The second the ball hit the net, they literally disappeared. It emptied instantly. I looked around and there was a handful of blues left in. No thought of staying to applaud their teams efforts or watch their players pick up their medals. They all just fucked off in a matter of seconds.

We've had a poor atmosphere at the Etihad this season. I think it’s largely understandable when we've won the Treble and it's back to square one. But knowing we can go top with a win on Saturday should hopefully make it lively. The last three months of last season had some memorable atmospheres. We're back in that parish once more.

Let’s hope so. 12.30 ko never helps though.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up too much, 12:30 kickoffs are notoriously shit for atmosphere. This appears to be a problem at every ground, certainly not specific to City.

I'll agree it was great v Everton 80-81 and v Boro 75-76, and I'll add rags 4-0 in the same season (League Cup), Wigan in the play-offs and rags 3-1 in the last Maine Road derby.
I'll also chuck in Newcastle Boxing Day 1977. If you were there you'll know why.
Schalke in the 1970 ECWC semi was very good..

We have to make it bloody noisy then.

Get the best, simplist, and loudest songs and chants going from the orf.

If we can't do it under these circumstances we need bulling !!

The atmosphere would be much better if they turn down the volume on pre match entertainment..hard to get an atmosphere going when you can't hear the person next to you.
They should leave the fans to make some noise not drown everybody out pre match and half time..

Unfortunately it's the same at every top 6 ground.....frustrating to say the least.

I know they were local derbies, but the recent Sunderland v Newcastle and west Bromwich v wolves games were good, some of our early kick offs v utd have been good too, as I pointed out before, the Liverpool v utd game was 4.30pm and the atmosphere was awful .

Walking round the ground pre kick off, trying to talk over that infernal music that’s been blasting out esp near main entrances, I’ve got no voice left by the time I get in !

To be honest I don’t think I’d stay if Liverpool beat us in a final. Certainly wouldn’t have stayed last year had the rags won.

I’d have thought that this is the kind of issue where City Matters could get something done as it won’t interfere with the remit of the money men.

In fact it could even help save the club money if they get rid of the hopelessly out of their depth people who they hire to provide the “entertainment” and interviews.

Liverpool at home last April was a fantastic atmosphere and that was an early kick-off. I do definitely think an early kick-off makes the atmosphere worse in general, but not as much as people on here like to suggest

I believe the 1894 folks have been back and forth with the club about this topic for years, I don't think the club want to budge
