I know we like a bit of tourist bashing but I'd just like to say there was an American woman sat behind me and she was brilliant. Shouting and cheering, even dropped an F bomd and quickly apologised :),knew all the players names, Cheering all the subs, said she loved bobb. She was on the phone at one point to her dad, saying 'it's usually just us two, can't believe I'm surrounded by city fans' saying 'can't believe I'm only 12 rows from the front and all the players are there just in front of me, it's amazing!'
She was sat on her own and said 'I just wish I was here with my dad'
She absolutely loved it. I'd have 100 of her any time than some of the miserable fuckers, that moan at every kick, any day.

Special American Friend ?

Started out strong, which is normal for away support, as its usual hardcore fans, but even the TV commentator mentioned their section being emptied with 20 mins to go!
I wonder when the last train back to brum was, given the 20:15 ko ?

Our end didn't look to great at 90 minutes to be fair, but I can't complain as I wasn't there, midweek games involve an overnight stay, so I've given them up (my ticket was sold on the exchange, before I get abused).

6000 away fans as well
That 23 thousand odd attendance was only 8 years ago as well !
Villa are the Midlands equivalent of the Stretford Serpents.
They think they are better than everyone else, but haven't had a good team for many years.
Luckily for them, all the other Midlands teams (apart from Leicester) have also not threatened to be a top team...

Thought it wasn't so bad tonight, enjoyed the banter on the 314 boundary with villa fans.

Also thanks to the person who recommended to go into N1 instead of M1 for SSL3 saves a massive long queue waiting to be searched will be even more helpful when it's pissing it down.

They also gave a rendition of the empty seats song Newcastle love, they need to make their minds up...and maybe check their season by season attendances against ours.
What the fuck is this modern day obsession with singing about empty seats in full stadiums? Is it a City thing or are these clowns singing it everywhere? Does someone have binoculars to search out the one family who have gone on holiday?

Think the idiots was singing it too the directors box

New Kippax stand being built. That attendance wasn't far off capacity, plus it was in a different era where attendances weren't what they are these days. If we're going to play that game then how about:

Division 1 - 1st January 1986. Aston Villa v Manchester City

Attendance: 14,215

Seriously, I don't ever remember Villa fans being as cuntish as they have been these past few years. There never used to be any major issues between both sets of fans and I've lost count of the amount of great days out I've had at Villa Park and drinking in pubs with plenty of their fans in without a hint of trouble. Sure, they were bitter after we bought Barry and Milner off them but they still weren't as bad as they are now. It seems that since they got relegated and came back up they think they're the greatest and most vocal fans in the country yet most of their songs last night - when they could be arsed singing that is - were either ripped off from other clubs including ours or incredibly small time, and also displayed a complete lack of self-awareness of all the shite attendances and shite atmospheres they've had at their games down the years. There's nothing wrong with a bit of banter of course but their attempt at banter last night was fucking pathetic!

They are truly morons. Every single one of them. I absolutely fucking despise them. Thick as mince.

Dunno if this is being reflected in other parts of the ground, but there's a bit of a tension brewing round me between what I'll call "tourist" (mostly Asian, if I'm honest) and "SC" holders that hasn't been as explicit in previous seasons.

Smaller group of lads starting to get really vocal about people recording the game on their phones. It's moved from mumbles to quite angry shouting any time someone has their phone out.

I see from their point of view in some ways, it is annoying having people with their phones out constantly, but I do feel for the poor bastards who have come to a City game only to get shouted at by some tipsy Mancs.

Possibly just the price of success, but I could see those tensions getting worse before they get better.

Stick them all in one section then, let’s see how many empty seats can be counted for the dead rubber games, they get on my tits, wait for the Madrid game they were everywhere last year and given the enormity of that tie I was surprised.

Unfortunately a fair chunk of football fans are coked up, bullying morons

I can’t stand Villa. I think it did start around Barry then Milner coming over to City but they’ve always been big time charlies despite not winning anything significant in a long time.

Big fish in a small pond in the Midlands.
