Balotelli [MERGED]

Too many on here are just repeating what they read in the media instead of thinking for themselves. I genuinely don't think it was that bad, was it as bad as Skrtel on Jo for instance (which didn't even get a yellow)?
Was it as bad as Rooney at Wigan a few weeks ago? Again, not even a yellow, in fact that one got a little cuddle get from the ref.

Thing is, yes it was stupid. Initially he went in for the ball i think, but was stupid to leave his foot in the way he did.

But this has been blown way out of proportion because a) It's Manchester City, and b) It's Mario Ballotelli.

The bellend that is Ronnie Irani thinks we should get rid now, but when questioned on what he'd have done with Cantona after the Bruce Lee impression - guess what that's different.

Its bollocks and a lot of you are falling for it

If you look at it from another perspective Balo spotted that Popov was an absolute cheating prick and he deserved a right good kicking .
Balo needs to be criticised for not doing the job properly as he could have maimed the twat and we would not have had to suffer his pathetic antics for the rest of the game.
Balo, if you fell like doing that again please do it in the last minute of the game when we are four up and that granny shagger is in your sights then let him have both barrels - I'd love it !!
Otherwise behave yourself you tosser.

To be honest i really really hoped Popov would get injured along with that other diving twat that went down like he was shot whenever NDJ went near him. I have never wished injury on any 1 but career ending injuries would of been too good for them

I had a quick glance at 'the Sun' yesterday and it described Balotellias planting his boot into Popovs (sp?) chest and then raking it down to his thigh and stamping into it. This makes me ask the question how many blumooners have actually just pulled their opinion straight from 'the Sun'? He didn't even touch his chest so I'm bemused as to how both the papers and some bluemooners have come to this conclusion. Stupid? Yes. Dangerous? No. Malicous? No

if you look at the tackle again it begins just a couple of inches under popov's chin and continues down leaving studmarks on his thigh, a terrible tackle

He should of started on his face and carried on to his bollocks before stamping on his knee TWICE and the stabbing him in the heart. I still would of thought that cheating piece of shit would have got off lightly

The facts speak for themselves,no one is falling for anything.

Your comment would be relevant and accurate if it was an isolated incident,it wasn't,it's a constant theme....

On the flip side, would you be quite so generous with your sympathy and forgiveness if he played for a rival?

Constant theme? Rubbish. His disciplinary problems are largely down to petulance and immaturity, not violent conduct. Did he deserve the red at WBA?

Honestly, if he wasn't our player I'd have the same opinion. It's been blown of proportion. Look at some of tackles Scholes has got away with down the years, look at Shearer, Rooney, the Skrtel one on Jo. And then look at Mario and tell me his 'tackle' the other night is worse than the things they've done. So bad that we are supposed to rip his contract up. i'm telling you mate, it's bollocks.

Pic won't load for some reason, but this is 10 times worse than Mario's and ddn't warrant a yellow from what I remember.

The challenge itself was more stupid and snide than dangerous, however, even though the cheating turd on the receiving end made the very most of it,the act deserved the outcome.

The constant theme comment was aimed at his general attitude, the above incident is one of many associated with his short time at the club - trouble follows him and unfortunately he is responsible for finding much of it.

I hope he does but i simply can't see him changing.

This sort of incident can make or break a player. It made cantona at utd when he attacked the fan, ronaldo was another that was taken to task over hsi on the pitch antics (diving) and he stopped (to a certain extent) and certainly became a better player.

Its good to hear that the other players support him. He needs to settle down and listen to the likes of dejong, vierra kompnay tevez.

This could be the making of Balotelli.
He has apologised and sinncerely in my opinion. The incident is finished and in the past.

Utd fans have forgiven rooney for his antics in the transfer window we need to forgive Balotelli for his mistake and he needs to learn from it.

The lad has bags of talent and that is undeniable to anyone who has ever coached or watched a lot of football. He needs to grow up by in a few years IF he sorts himself out he will be one of the best in the world

Its time to forgive and forget everyone whats done is done and we will get nothing if we make continue to blast him for it

Glad to see him in the squad for today though i dont think he will play (or at least start anyway)
