Boateng wants out

A real shame as I thought this lad would be the business. I know he has had excuses with injuries etc, but the two qualities essential in even the most limited centre half are courage. and aggression.
Sadly, while a gifted footballer, Jerome has neither of these qualities. The image of him losing three 70-30 tackles in five minutes, all in his favour in front of the East Stand finished him for most blues.
I am struggling to think of a suitable adjective to describe him. Possibly starting with the letter S and applicable to a snoozing railway vigilante from the East Midlands.
Perhaps bluemooners may be of assistance in this respect?

Boateng seemed to have a big issue about the position he played though (Bayern promised to play him as a central defender). Who was that scout who told City that Boateng will be the solution at right back though?

We will look extremely stupid if we sell Boateng cheaper or equal to what we paid to Hamburg and then go to pay much more expensive price for the replacement like Cahill.

He is so happy at Bayern ...

Manchester City. As a national player Jerome Boateng (22) in a shoe test of his personal equipment in Hamburg Nike speaks about his future, it's clear that Munich is not at his current club Manchester City. Despite agreement by 2015.

"I would like to Munich," says Boateng, "by my side everything is clear." And he also tells why this is so.

"I've Roberto Manchini (Manchester City coach, note) already stated that I want to play central defender and not outside. The Bavaria Executive Board has indicated to me that I should play inside. “ There to play regularly is important for me because I was a better chance in the national team. "

Boateng is in the upcoming season after Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Müller, Gomez, and New Badstuber the seventh German international at Bayern are - if the record champions Manchester City to agree to a transfer.

Manchester City paid a year ago, around 12 million euros to the Hamburger SV calls, now 20 million. Bavaria is prepared in approximately the same amount paid to the HSV conceded.

Boateng: "I see it, it's all about the release. I hope it works. Bavaria is bigger than Manchester City, is one of the top six in Europe. “ The offer is an honor for me. "

Boateng is at Bayern a four-year contract signed in 2015.

His full quote: "Bayern are [a] bigger [club] than City and amongst the top six clubs in Europe, their offer is an honor for me."

(As quoted in German newspapers)

He was sure to point out that they're bigger than City, to me that is a lack of respect towards your current club. Anyway, let's see how this goes along. Obviously we won't give him away cheaply just because Bayern are brainwashing him.

I'm done falling for random quotes.

Unless we get a decent price he can shut up and get on with it

damn straight, who the hell is he to demand like that. He has done sweet fa so far to be honest, show some humility stfu work hard or at least just go see the manager. Airing this in public is bad form and shows he is a sulky twat and i for one have had enough of them.

Balo get fooking grafting

ade: fuck off you twat

Belamy: you can fook of as well

Really getting sick to my back teeth of the toys out of pram business.

Stick em in a room with nige and big vince i reckon they would kick the pissyness outta them.

Good riddance

Although injured, he hasn't looked anywhere near a decent player when he's been available

If he had 10% of the desire of zab, I'd care.

There were plenty of posters on here argueing why the 6ft 3inch German could make a fine fullback......to be fair i recall asking anyone to name me another (6ft 3inch fullback) and the lines went deado. Never go rallying in a stretch limo....is my tip for the day.

Boateng never showed anything. Played too soft for CB.

Good riddance if we can at least get our money back.

Who among our so-called "scouts" thought this guy was a good idea at right back? Fucking clueless.

Courage, you've either got it or you haven't. This guy hasn't.

I get the idea that the CB thing is just a smoke screen. We all know that if he played well at RB he could have moved to CB at a later time. And as for his international career, he played at RB in the last world cup FFS!

When I watched the World Cup I was really pleased we'd signed Boateng, he was brilliant. Then against Valencia in the pre season game he put in a fantastic cross for Barry to score, I thought we had a full back who would be good for a few assits a season.

Sadly that early promise never materialised and a mixture of injuries and squad rotation meant his opportunities were limited. The rare occasion he was played at CB he didn't look comfortable at all and seemed to lack the necessary aggression required for that position and looked vulnerable when defending ariel attacks.

If he thinks Bayern are so much better than City he won't be going there expecting to play many games... if he couldn't force his way in to our starting line up, he won't have a chance there!

Apart from that cross against Valencia my abiding memory of Jerome Boateng, should he leave will be his once a game obligatory run down the right, where he'd run out of options, cut inside, shift the ball on to his left then unleash a thunderous shot....that would go both wide and over...

When i watched him in the world cup (left back) he was awful.

I've said on these boards on more than one occasion that if he's a full-back then i'm a fuckin supermodel.
I also pointed out that his waving a foot around in a half-hearted attempt at a tackle will result in serious injury, and sure enough.
I'd be surprised if any club paid more than 6million for him.

This cb business is strange. I know Mancini is a big fan of jb, I hope to god he doesn't drop Komp or Lescott for him straight away.

Man up jb or do one, with your performances this season you should be keeping your head down and mouth shut.

A big let down this guy has been. When we signed him I thought we had pulled off a real coup, but either he has no botheredness about him or the PL simply showed him up for what he is. Either way, hard to dislike someone who hasn't really done much wrong so if a move to the top club in his homeland is what he wants, good luck to him.
Richards is far, far superior.

Quality footballer with colossal potential. Still think he'll go on to be one of the best centre halves in Europe and I'll be very disappointed if he goes, destroyed if he's replaced by gary cahill

At least Cahill might put in a performance though. I don't have any lasting memories of Boateng, good or bad. I think Cahill is getting some infair stick before he's even here really, he's a solid player. Not saying he's first team quality but in a rotation system or simply as back up, i'll be happy to have him. Was really surprised when Villa got rid so easily.
