True, but that was also largely due to their small squad. I think it was Sammer, who said you needed to buy 5 new players after your 2012 season (where like Dortmund you narrowly lost everything). Dortmund's problems last season to me appeared more due to the lack of rotation and players being a bit tired. Last year apart from Bayern's first 11 being better they also had better options ie Shaqiri, Gomez, Gustavo, Rafinha, Badstuber, Van Buyten etc. Now compare that with Kehl, Santana, Grosskreutz and Schieber.Maldeika said:@supercrystal
Dortmund already had the same problems last year. We were talking about this already then - even with Gündogan, Götze etc. The 25 points did not come from nothing - and the most of this points they did not get in the CL months. But the most teams then still played more open against them than they do it this season. There was still a lot teams that thought they could play bremenlike against them and that does not work - even now. And they had a lot of matches like against Nuremberg in which Nuremberg really had them in the bag but was unlucky and they somehow had the luck to score that goal - this year they miss being lucky, too.
Klopp's decision to go even less technical and just have a fast players like Henrikh and Aubemayang has taken them further back than even the injuries.
Seeing Essien and he is a shadow of the player he used to be, but still think he was what Schalke needed. His experience, example and determination would have guaranteed them top 4.
The Bayern line up is out. Schweinsteiger's first start, but a shame to see Kroos on the bench.
