Cardiff (H) Post match Thread

Disappointed with the flat atmosphere- but 3 points and Kev getting better and a few rested.

IMHO I think this perception about atmosphere and the crowd noise is due to the poor acoustics in the ground.

I sit in level 2 of the South Stand and thought the crowd support was better than recent home games despite the lower actual attendance.Good range of songs too !!

To me the singing seemed to come from all parts of the ground so maybe where you sit determines what you can hear.

I loved the “ You’ve had your shot , now fuck off home” chant.

Thought KDB was back to his brilliant best but others not quite used to him being back. Cardiff keeper kept the score low otherwise would have been the hatful of goals people wanted.

One game at a time !

See I don't really get this attitude.

Empty seats on tv can not be seen as positive in any way.

Not for the Club or owners and investors.
Top flight football relies on huge sponsors, partner investmentsite etc. You need this to compete at the top.

Etihad should be full every week it really should. I suspect this is a reason why Family stand expansion seems to be on hold.

It's not just about match day tickets sales income, the big money is from sponsors and a full stadium is more attractive

As for leaving early, WTF is that about really.

Going to the match is not a chore or like work to bunk off early, savour every minute.
The club have brought this situation on themselves by continually hiking up the price of the season tickets. The price of the season tickets determines the price of the match day tickets and the tickets on the exchange. Any of the people involved in the City Matters talking shop will tell you that it is the club's policy to try to screw as much money out of the supporters as possible. Makes me laugh when everyone is sucking Khaldoon's knob about what a good job he's doing when actually as far as the supporters are concerned he's not.

Away from attendance, I thought that was a very good display by players that may have been a bit ring rusty. Other than the one breakaway we had a stranglehold on that game from first minute to last. Lots of chances created and lots of shots on goal. On another night that could have been a cricket score. I still think the pundits underplay what they see in front of them. There is not another team in the Premier League that comes close to that control, we are literally in a league of our own.

Highlights were obvious, Kevin was back to hist destructive best and if he plays like that for the rest of the season we will be picking up more silverware. That is nailed on. Was wonderful to see Phil get his start, I think I saw he covered most ground and had 5 shots, the most in the team. For a debut start, he oozed confidence and on another night could have had a couple easily. What a future the lad has. Gabby was ring rusty but very involved in most things. Just a shame about Zinchenko. Was it his hammy? That will be 2 or 3 weeks minimum I would expect. I don't believe Pep will trust Mendy so it looks like a Walker, Danilo partnership for the run in.

straightforward win, obviously would have liked to have put GD to bed as i think Liverpool will rattle in a few more but hey ho, we looked in cruise control.

as long as Jesus learns he needs to hit that back post as a matter of course when KdB and Sane are playing, then i'll be happy. His assist was nice, but he was a bit profligate. KdB good, Danilo good, Foden is growing and Mahrez was ok too.

What was his logic in coming to that conclusion?

A grade A cock right enough...
Foden would represent a gamble if a club signed him, Hudson -Odoi wouldn't. Nobody else agreed with him and Garth Crooks said Foden is at the best possible club for his future development, and is being coached by the best. Crooks was very complimentary.

If the club are unhappy with a few empty seats being shown on TV then maybe they should look at themselves as to why this may be instead of expecting normal fans with normal lives to keep spending and spending for a shitty “experience” they keep trying to force on everyone.

When you see empty seats tonight, it’s not embarrassing unless you are precious enough to care what someone on twitter says about it. What it is, is a sign of reality within an already stretched normal fan base.

You know what the club will do to solve this in a few weeks time? Increase ticket prices once again!

That is why there is apathy from some fans to attend games and why nights like tonight DO. feel like a chore.

To all who attended tonight and/or attend on Saturday, your support is amazing!

It’s school half term for many....there are 8 games in April, a semi final at Wembley, two CL quarter final games....I think many neutrals and fans of other clubs must think city fans are made of money ffs.

it is embarrassing for the club and players . top of the league and 13 games away from something no team has ever done before and they are playing in front of a shit crowd who just couldnt be arsed apart from the usual south stand lot.
i sat in the east stand top tier today for the 1st time in years as i gave my 2 tickets to a friend and his lad and it was quite frankly embarrassing as there was about 10 people on the row and only 5 or 6 of us in the whole block jumped up when we scored.
complacency?
change in fan base?
or the usual cant get there coz my kids are in school tomorrow? travel to far etc etc ?
well put your tickets on the ticket exchange and see what happens...they just wont sell.
we simply arnt as big as some people think
I'll tell you what is sad folk like you continually fuckin moaning about empty seats. And I'm guessing it's to do with getting wound up off rag mates too.

I just can't believe how it affects some of fans this much, let it go and enjoy the match and this amazing team we have.
