Cavani Speculation/News 3 (or 4)

Edin wants ideally to go to Dortmund but is tempted by Napoli. We have made two bids as the article says and have set a drop dead date with Napoli. (so I have been told!)

ooo, interesting.

Wasn't this cut off date mentioned by Napoli as the 30th Jun, 55m Euros, which seems to bear out what the press are saying about a cash only deal but if it isn't cash then the full 63m euros ie 40m + Dzeko. If they (Napoli) hadn't received bids in those sums they would re negotiate with Cavani and effectively kill any deal. Seems to me we are done and dusted with Napoli if RM and Chelsea can't match our bids and Cavani wants to leave his only destination will be Manchester. Maybe this is why his supposed family are trying to persuade Napoli to lower the price still further because his number one destination is Madrid. As for the player if you go of his quotes he is content to be coached by Pellegrini or Mourinho. Seems to me another couple of weeks of speculation before we here anything for definite. But who knows this could all change tomorrow. :-)

On another note,I think with navas and isco(if it happens),we could possibly see a completely different dzeko..imo

I don't know mate, the whole team has to play differently to see the best of Dzeko in my opinion, we would have to stop our out and out passing game and go by far more direct, similar to how United play.

I can't see us doing that with the Txiki, Ferran and Pellegrini running the show.

If Dzeko can adapt more the possession game then for sure I would want him leading the line.

Unfortunately for all the positives about Dzeko's play he couldn't trap a bag of cement and when I look at our team I am impressed with the way most of our players bring the ball under instant control (note the word most).

Edin isn't going to Dortmund this summer unless major things turn around as lewi isn't gonna be allowed to leave for Bayern and I'm not convinced BVB are willing to pay him the wages plus fee required to get him. dzeko was always going to be the major stumbling block in this deal for Napoli

Growing more dislike for him day by day to be completely honest

Just because a current player doesn't wanted to be shunted to a country he doesn't want to be in or play for a club he doesn't fancy shouldn't really be a reason not to like a player. On a personal level Dzeko is brilliant. If he elects not to go Napoli and fight for his place at City alongside Cavani and Aguero I would be delighted but IMO up against those two (and thats without Tevez) he would have a hard time given he is very much a confidence player and probably won't be in CL group. There may be other teams in Germany with 20m burning a hole in their pocket and he might get the move he wants.

We broke the one of the golden rules when we signed Dzeko and that is you don't sign players during the January Transfer Window.
