Cavani Speculation/News 3 (or 4)

Napoli have to be a bit careful here dont they. I reckon Cavani has made his mind up about leaving now and to end up staying a t Napoli could be an anti climax for him - he may be happy enough to stay I suppose.

But both us and chelsea could end up going elsewhere soon.

What confirmed bids have been reported? if we do want to sign him, we should put in our final bid and give them some time to accept or turn down. Whilst this is going on we should be also trying to sign a replacement if they say no. He is not an at any price player, although he would be great for us, and help turn us into a top team in Europe.

so i guess we are still at the stage where we were a few days ago...he looks more likely to go to chelsea if you believe a lot of the media hype though his mother has come out and said we along with madrid are in talks with him....

I still believe that if the player has a choice it will be

1st Madrid
2nd Chelsea
3rd Us

If it comes down to who coughs up the money first it will be Chelsea

Simon I am not saying you are a bit pessimistic, but I could also see you saying if it came down to it:-

3rd Us

2nd Accrington Stanley

1st The Queens Head Sunday Team

only saying

its a strange situation for napoli as they know that cavani is now at his most valuable,1 injury,a bad season next time around and his value will have halved, they im sure will want to cash in,this will run and run until the end of the window imo!!

RM will deffo be in for a new striker as higuin and benzema, both under achieved last season as did our 3 forwards....

hes south american and speaks the lingo so in my opinion it makes them favourites....

but city need a marketing icon,we've not had 1 since sergio aguero, with the new nike contract in place city will want to drive this forward, who better than Cavani

Not sure if posted... just seen this on sky...

Napoli striker Edinson Cavani will reject a move to the Premier League and has set his heart on a move to Real Madrid, according to his father.

The 26-year-old is one possible target for the Spanish side as they search for a replacement for Gonzalo Higuain.

Chelsea and Manchester City are also believed to be tracking the Uruguayan, who scored 36 goals in all competitions last season.

"Cavani's intention is to play for Madrid," Luis Cavani told Futboleros. "He is excited about it and is very willing to see it through.

"He has told the family in private that he wants to join Real Madrid but if he declares it publicly it will annoy Napoli."

He added that representatives from Madrid had already held talks with the player but is concerned that Napoli's valuation of his son may prove a stumbling block.

"There has been contact with Real Madrid's lawyers and now we are waiting for the two clubs to meet," he said.

"I hope it happens and that talks take place as soon as possible. Who wouldn't want to play for Real Madrid?

"It's not just up to Edi. They are talking about 65 million euros and Napoli won't negotiate for any less."

Changes nothing

We have all known all along that given the choice he'll go to Real Madrid. The question is will Real Madrid go for it

We need to be lucky in regards to other deals eg lewandowski and other potential Real Madrid deals eg Bale

I'm not sure it makes much footballing sense for Real Madrid to go for cavani when they have Ronaldo playing down the middle, but footballing logic and Real madrid don't go together.

Here we are getting strung along yet again. Really don't want this guy at the club now. The fee is rediculous and he obviously has no desire to play for city. Fuck him, and fuck Napoli. Actually fuck all those slimey Italian greaseballs. We should have known better than to try and do business with them. We now need to shift our attentions pronto and nail whoever we have as a contingency. Does anybody have the slightest idea who may be a backup? I've heard suggestions but nothing backed up by anything. Will be really interesting to see who we target now.

Just seen this, am I the only person to think 'well do what Mummy and Daddy tell you' - we want players who want to play for the shirt. I'm bored of all this now, he's too big for his boots.
