Napoli striker Edinson Cavani will reject a move to the Premier League and has set his heart on a move to Real Madrid, according to his father.
The 26-year-old is one possible target for the Spanish side as they search for a replacement for Gonzalo Higuain.
Chelsea and Manchester City are also believed to be tracking the Uruguayan, who scored 36 goals in all competitions last season.
"Cavani's intention is to play for Madrid," Luis Cavani told Futboleros. "He is excited about it and is very willing to see it through.
"He has told the family in private that he wants to join Real Madrid but if he declares it publicly it will annoy Napoli."
He added that representatives from Madrid had already held talks with the player but is concerned that Napoli's valuation of his son may prove a stumbling block.
"There has been contact with Real Madrid's lawyers and now we are waiting for the two clubs to meet," he said.
"I hope it happens and that talks take place as soon as possible. Who wouldn't want to play for Real Madrid?
"It's not just up to Edi. They are talking about 65 million euros and Napoli won't negotiate for any less."

Here we are getting strung along yet again. Really don't want this guy at the club now. The fee is rediculous and he obviously has no desire to play for city. Fuck him, and fuck Napoli. Actually fuck all those slimey Italian greaseballs. We should have known better than to try and do business with them. We now need to shift our attentions pronto and nail whoever we have as a contingency. Does anybody have the slightest idea who may be a backup? I've heard suggestions but nothing backed up by anything. Will be really interesting to see who we target now.

If he doesn't want to fucking play for us then sack him off
Unless it's his dads dream his son played for Madrid
Which might well be the case

Yep, as much as I love Cavani and know how much he would improve, I do not want to see him at City anymore... players like Fernandinho (yes he was expensive) and Navas deserve to as they wantedthe move and want to play for City and no where else.
They will play great at City as they want the move in order to play for a big club and win titles... when a player has "options" and does not move their ass and allows their club to milk it, you have another Hazard on your hands...
Looks this like the Cavani move is only down to Real and they will get him for less than buyout... I am certain this attempt at increasing the bid by ADL will blow back and Real will find they are the only ones after him, hence giving them much less than the clause.
I am sure we are out of the race for Cavani and Forza's info is right. I hope we get another striker with top potential though...
