City charged by the FA following the Villa match (22nd May 2022)

It didn’t spoil anyone’s day, unless they’re under the thumb and got home later than they told their missus they were going to do they got a load of ear ache.

We’d won the league in arguably the third best way anyone’s ever done it in the history of football for fuck’s sake (Agüerooooo! And Michael Thomas are probably the top two). Some Villa fans could have beaten me up that afternoon and it wouldn’t have spoilt my day.

Even the players were loving it, especially Kevin, and they were the ones being bombarded (Laporte looked a bit worried but that was it).
The very sad fact is that we live in a different world these days. As soon as players/managers etc started to be injured by fans on the pitch the game was up.

You can have 10,000 absolutely sound people on the pitch but you can't do anything about the one person who decides to headbutt an opposition manager like at Forest.

Sad indictment of our times, but that's the way it is.

Regarding pitch invasions , neither the dippers or the rags seem to go in for it at home after successful seasons. Don't recall rags doing it after any premiere league win ditto the dippers during their period of first division dominance in the eighties. While totally understandable in 2012 as an outpouring of relief and total joy it has been less so since. Was at the Swansea match in 2018 title won before the kick off, huge pitch invasion at the end. Pitch invasions after next two home games, fear this is making us look small time but it seems to be ingrained in our fans culture. Found it much more understandable when we lower league Wigan semi and Birmingham at home also Blackburn and Bradford away were great fun but thought we'd moved on from that.

Did it really spoil your day?
It was fucking inevitable it was going to happen if we won the game. Nothing or nobody was going to stop it and regardless of the rights and wrongs it's not really worth fretting about and it certainly shouldn't have prevented you enjoying another amazing finish to the season by this wonderful team of ours.
Do you think I did not enjoy the fight back ,get a grip it's the 3000 or so wankers who put a damper on the day ,my wish was to enjoy the after game celebration's with 55000 others but the "wankers" then spoiled my day. Still got a seat in Chinatown after a good time in the Gray Horse. (Win or lose up the blues)

Yep, I'm the one who needs to get a grip out of the two of us.. Haha!
Best try and book that seat in Chinatown for the last home game of this season, mate :-)

So I’m guessing that Liverpool are braced for punishment for the setting off of multiple flares which ended up on the pitch at the Community Shield?

Thought not

Not forgetting Charlton home in 85 saw my brother charge onto the pitch after first goal.

It’s just not been part of their culture.

It’s always been part of our fan culture:

Bert Trautmann testimonial, 1964
League title win, 1968
European Cup Winners Cup final, 1970
Relegating United at Old Trafford, 1974
Relegation v Luton, 1983
Promotion v Charlton, 1985
Promotion v Bradford, 1989
FA Cup quarter final v Spurs, 1993
Last game of the Kippax v Chelsea, 1994
Play-off semi v Wigan, 1999
Second to last game v Birmingham, 2000
Blackburn away, 2000
Agüerooooo!, 2012
League title win, 2014
First home game after league title win, 2018
League title trophy presentation game, 2018
League title win, 2022

I’m sure there’ll be more I’ve missed and I’m sure they go back further than 1964, that’s just the earliest my Father can remember of them.

City have this year released a documentary about our fans swarming to Blackburn and invading the Ewood pitch.
