City Matters thread

After four and a half years, 2,750 emails, and many meetings and statements, tonight was my final meeting as a City Matters representative.

I’d like to thank you all for your support over the years, and I hope that I’ve been able to reflect your views and help over that time.

Thank you Alex.

You have been superb.

Without doubt the best City Matters Rep the fans have had representing us.

It's such as shame you have finally finished your term.

City Matters and the fans are worse of for that.

I bet the club are happy though. Take that as a complement.

When's the book out? ;-)

Thanks for all your good work and effort Alex.
It's been much appreciated what you have achieved for all us City fans.
Hope everything works out for you and good luck for the future .

I'm no lover of the box ticking exercise from the club however, I doff my cap to you, without a doubt you've been a proper pain in the arse.

City executives must be having a party today now you've had to leave.

You’ve done a brilliant job mate. Easier said then done, but I hope you keep working with all of those fan groups, you made a big difference

Thanks for all your efforts mate. The new FG ST release and today's news are a fitting legacy. Well done

Just a shame you can’t do another term in office Alex.

Well done and a big thank you to Alex and all involved in City matters. There has been a huge groundswell in fan frustration and anger at ridiciously priced mid-week "non-glamour" fixtures. The athmosphere in the ground has suffered, many fans have become disconnected from the club. What you've achieved will really help. Hopefully sensible sales criteria, fewer bogus "sellouts" in July and a sales policy that leans more towards rewarding fan loyalty as opposed to making it difficult for the "legacy" fans will follow..

As you didn't manage to get Joey Holts added to the bar offerings, I would consider your time as a CM rep a failure.

Only joking mate. Well done...you did us all proud.

Alex. No one at the club gave a fuck about the Istanbul nightmare and were happy just to hum along to the Uefa tune.
You took it open yourself to collate the horror stories and present it to the suits. For that alone you deserve a statue, that you also put in many hours on other matters means you should get 2 :-)

Cheers Blue.
I didn't realise that was you Alex but well done thank you for your efforts and thank you for caring , unlike others who eventually show their true colours with their snouts in the trough.
Thank you

Quite a fair few will be eating humble pie tonight. Fans really CAN make a difference and City have shown that they really CAN care. It’s such great news and a big boost for everyone.
Thanks to all who got involved and to all those who stayed on the concourses!

I’m personally glad some of them are leaving Citymatters this week like that Mo fella from the blue crescent branch OSC who didn’t want to support the fans over ticket prices last year. At the FSA agm today sat with Kevin Parker he voted against a motion relating to sexual misconduct in football.

Basically, when footballers and high ranking staff in football get charged or put under investigation for sexual misconduct/abuse, treat them like any other workplace would and suspend them on full pay til investigation is over. Massive massive support in the room. He was one of about 5 people in nearly 200 who voted against it.

As an aside, Mo has left Citymatters now so technically has no right or reason to even be there in the first place ?

I know more than most what you've put in to City Matters Alex. You've been a more than worthy successor to Simon and you've established the credibility of the group, and your own, beyond question. You've set the standard that others should strive for.
