City v Stoke Post Match Thread

Complacency that's all it was,in the past two games we've got away with it but that's not gonna happen every week .The first two games conclusion was that we were brilliant but never got out of second gear and we simply can't afford this second gear football no matter how good our players or squad is.
Defeat like these are really disappointing but I hope it serves as a wake up call

Crap.

A mirror image of the Hull game around the same time as last season, aside from Negredo coming off the bench to save the day.

Hughes deployed the same tactics as that incredible final day.

A couple of quick observations.

Jovetic and Aguero can't play in the same team.

Both want to come short against tight defences to make things happen.

You need a target man to stay central.

Sagna is no Zabaleta. Perhaps as good in the tackle but nowhere near the overlap option this team needs to tick.

Pellegrini got it wrong this time, we kick on.

Pretty much this. A bit of pace in the passing wouldn't go amiss either and intensity in our play. I put more effort into putting my socks on yesterday that that lot did on the park. The rain hid the lack of sweat IMO. Not what I wanted to see on a 600 mile round trip. Annoyed doesn't begin to describe my feelings.

When you have the attack as we do we shouldn't worry about defending make it an end to end game we will come out on top 99% of the time

After another 200 mile rd trip, exiting the ground in pouring rain, sat in the car park for 30 mins waiting to get out and all following a defeat to Stoke!! But after the last 4 years I can except a performance like yesterday ever now and then. Say what you want but when Stoke did bring the ball out they did pass it and if we had scored that goal it would be a fantastic goal. It happens and I would rather it happen before the end of Aug rather than the end of April, well done Stoke you did a job we will games we don't deserve but it's not the end of the season by far.

Well I came all the way down from Edinburgh for this one; my first visit to the Etihad.

Shame about the loss but was just a bad day at the office I think.

I guess it's because we weren't playing very well, but it was very quiet where I was sitting in block 230.

Don't imagine it's the norm but there seemed to be only one corner who were singing player songs and such.

But I enjoyed myself as much as I could. Still have complete belief in the team and the manager.

"We'll fight 'til the end. We'll fight 'til the eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeend. We're Man City; we'll fight 'til the end!"

Atmosphere was pathetic, why no singing in South stand?

We were in the same position last season with 3 games played. 2 wins and 1 loss (against just promoted Cardiff) and it didn't go too badly in the league. In CL performance was still disappointed last term.

Just back in the door about 10 minutes ago. Bloody plane was nearly two hours late leaving Ringway due to the knock on from a delay earlier in the day. Put the tin hat on a shitty weekend, that did.

You do realise that we all blame you for yesterday?
